If you can make the drive, USC Dental School will do it for one low price. My kid has had braces for five years (since his teeth were pretty bad), still only paid the upfront price. If you are willing to make the drive, you can get very high quality orthodontistry in Tijuana for a fraction of the cost, and I believe border crossings for medical care are currently open. Folks act like it's something sketchy to do ... as if people in Mexico don't also care about the quality of their care, lol. I've had some friends get really great work done.
