Does anyone know where to go to purchase permits for firewood in the Jemez and where the dead and down site is?
Thank you
Steve M. replied:
It's Forest Service, not National Park. There is an office in Espanola. At one point the Visitor's Center in Jemez Springs had a representative that would sell permits as well, but I don't know if they still do.

Call one of the Santa Fe Forest Offices - Jemez or Espanola I think are the closest See website below https://fs.usda.gov/detail/santafe/about-forest/districts/?cid=fsbdev7_021072

The Forest Service office in Española is just North of Walmart on the West side of the street just past the stoplight. A permit for up to five cords is $20 and is good for all of the Santa Fe National Forest. The permit is good until the end of the year.
I have a big tree that fell down in my side yard in Los Alamos. Is there anybody that needs firewood, and would like to come cut it up? It is seasoned wood.
I know it's a bit early but I am looking for firewood. If anyone is selling any or knows where I can purchase some I would greatly appreciate the tip. Thanks!
