Kenwood Montessori is wonderful!

Depends on what kind of schedule you need. Highland Pres Weekday School (Cherokee Rd & Highland - really not very far) is fantastic. It isn't always the best fit for parents who work full-time, though.

Kenwood Montessori. Ask for Violet, she's 3 so she can be bribed with snacks. Seriously though, my oldest daughter, Vera, just moved from Kenwood to Brown and I feel Kenwood really prepared her for the transition. My younger daughter, Violet, loves every second and gets a lot out of the program. Mix that with great teachers and parents alike and you'll understand why I'm such a fan.

U could try care.com not sure how it works, i use to be on that but i was looking for work. I dont like in Louisville i live outside the city. Good luck
Stacy F. replied:
My bestie used Care.com and loved it! They had the same sitter come out once a week and she was so sweet and caring. They only stopped using her b/c she moved to Lexington. What area of Louisville are you looking for? I am a realtor and can help you find a home. But more importantly, the group can offer some great feedback on a preschool in your area. I am in the southend of Louisville and love Bethaven and Valley View. Both are Christian based and my kids loved both places.
Sarah H. replied:
Thanks ladies! Our relocation company has assigned our realtor, but thank you so much, Stacy! We will be living at The Paddock at Eastpoint apartments in the East End but we will be buying in Oldham county. From my research thus far, preschools seem to be much more expensive in Louisville. My son currently attends a Christian preschool 3 days a week for $165/mo and I haven't found anything even close to that. I'll keep care.com in mind. If you ladies have any more suggestions, please let me know! I also had a wonderful Mom's bible study here with childcare, so I'm hoping I can find something there too. We like to stay busy and I'd love to meet other Christian moms!
Mary A. replied:
Welcome to Louisville! I currently work at a preschool in the East End called Rainbow Nursery School. We are open from 9-12 every day. For the two year olds we have a three day program or a two day program. I'm not sure if there are any openings, but you can give then a call. I will find the number for you.

Kenwood Montessori used to be on Southern Parkway, then moved several years ago and they're now in Old Louisville (224 Woodbine St., 634-2075). My two children attended and I can't recommend them highly enough. The director, Lenore Crenshaw, lives in Beechmont.
Lisa B. replied:
Kenwood Montessori used to be in Beechmont but now it's in Old Louisville. It is an awesome place to send your kid.
Stephan Z. replied:
Kenwood Montessori might have tuition assistance. Our boy goes there and it is amazing.
Miranda L. replied:
you can go here but it's looking like they are having server troubles because the links on the page are not working, at least it gives you the information about the program (age required, etc.). It's called Head Start if they are under 4 and the Early Childhood program they are 4 by October I believe of the starting school year. http://www.jefferson.k12.ky.us/Departments/EarlyChildhood/Index.html
Can someone recommend a nearby preschool with patient and nurturing teachers? I'm looking for a gentle transition for a very shy 3 year old.
