RHI. I'm looking for recommendations for a restaurant in Bournemouth. Something special please..
Phil O. replied:
If you like a good Steak then Miller and Carter at BH2 is pretty damn good. https://www.millerandcarter.co.uk/restaurants/south-west/millerandcarterbournemouth?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=gmb
Phil O. replied:
If it doesn't have to be in Bournemouth then we always go to V&G's in Ringwood for special occasions. http://www.v-and-gs.co.uk/
Hello guys - hope it's okay to post here but I'm a Lymington newbie and could do with some local knowledge. So rumour has it (it's true) that I've moved to Lymington...
Tina Q. replied:
The Red Lion Boldre ! Need to book always busy
Erin W. replied:
Ciao Belli!!!
Leah M. replied:
The Monkey House, Burnt Orange Cafe, Prezzo.
Matt E. replied:
Keep to The Angel and Blue Pig for steaks and cocktails. Elderflower for finer French cuisine, Montigue Arms in Beaulieu for a Michelin star and a fab head chef and Burnt Orange Cafe for eggs benedict!
Matt E. replied:
And for spa and beauty treatments etc Diana Berry Jenner at Orchids Retreat.
Alison K. replied:
As you can see there's plenty of choices of great places to eat. Avoid The Mayflower though. New ownership & ate there on Monday. It was rubbish & you pay very highly for the privilege of that. Plus they add service charge too which is cheeky considering the service was dreadful!
Kenna H. replied:
Rivaaz for fantastic Indian food, The Cellar on the cobbles for intimate glass of wine and The Cafe on the quay for teas/cake and lovely view of fishing boats.
Jo S. replied:
A little out of Lym but The Raft at Milford is fab
Amanda S. replied:
Stanwells Hotel. Good selection. BBQ in the garden during summer months. Thomas Tripp is great local quality, fair price. The Raft is opening in The Marine on Milford seafront. That will be well worth a visit or two! Verveine also in Milford, close to Michelin star standard, lovely fish restaurant.
Tracy R. replied:
Ciao Belli mayflower and a couple of miles out East end arms. Angel courtyard is a lovely little courtyard just behind the Angel hotel also stanwells lovely food
Julie R. replied:

Candice B. replied:
Nice place to eat Lanes, Burcher & co at stanwells, monkey house pub, Kings head, good place for a cheeky gin the cellar on the cobbles all in Lymington.
Smyla K. replied:
Cafe Maison in Angel Courtyard is lovely for a light lunch or just a drink - especially as you can sit outside and enjoy the sun (when it's out!). The Haven is lovely for a fish bowl of wine at sunset too.

As for steak, the only way to get a really good steak is to visit the guys at the Danestream Farm Shop, buy one of their lovely aged rib eyes and cook it over really hot coals!

Can anyone recommend any pubs/restaurants in the area with ‘interesting’ vegetarian/vegan offerings? Maybe even a choice of more than one dish on the menu? TIA
Karen J. replied:
The Queens Head Burley have a great vegetarian and vegan menu. And apparently the fudge shop in Burley do vegan fudge too:)
Matt E. replied:
Our new winter menu at The Angel and Blue Pig has 5 vegan options available and all are being well received so far.
Rumour has it... that my fellow Lymingtonians may have some good recommendations for any local pubs/restaurants that do decent vegetarian meals. Thanks folks!
