I used this resource for a list of accredited daycares to check out. It's helpful because they include in-home and centers, sorted by area in Madison. Ultimately we went with Giving Tree Early Learning Academy off of Mammoth Dr. in the Fitchburg area and have been very happy. http://www.satellitefcc.com/referrals.html Satellite~Find Accredited Family Child Carewww.satellitefcc.com Our referral list shows family child care providers who are fully accredited by the City of Madison and who currently have openings.

I am trying care.com and initially had no luck for random days to cover dr spots. I have found it to be super helpful for a date night!! I had much more response for that. I liked having background check access and references.

This Facebook group can help you connect with home daycare providers. https://m.facebook.com/groups/1735407796689423 All licensed daycares in Wisconsin (both home and centers) can be found here. https://dcf.wisconsin.gov/childcare I have no idea about pricing, you’ll have to contact the provider directly. Unlicensed daycares tend to be cheaper. The licensed in-home daycare my infant goes to is under $1000 but only by a little. It’s on the east side, so that won’t help you.

Amanda W. replied:
Hi Celia. Always double check with this website as well. https://dcf.wisconsin.gov/youngstar Its not personal reviews, its actual licensing requirements that a center might not be meeting. I will just say, we looked into Playhaven for our school age child and were mortified. Mistakes happen but not over and over again

My wife and I are looking for weekly childcare for our newborn. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
Andrea N. replied:
Kevin Olson, our provider may have an opening. We use a fabulous in-home daycare located between Cottage Grove Rd and Milwaukee Street (near Kennedy). She is licensed with 21+ years of experience. I'm a teacher so our expectations were high and she did not disappoint. I will check with her tomorrow go,see where she is at with infant care. She has a fall opening for a toddler, but is is waiting to get final word from a current family who has made an offer on a house in Portage. If it goes through she will have an infant opening. She only takes 1 infant at a time.:)
