My Family Vet ... on Kuykendahl between FM 2920 & Spring Cypress ... It sounds like yeast. My English Staffordshire Terrier has that and she takes steroids on & off for it. It flairs up from time to time and doesn't go away completely ever. You have to be really careful with Trifexis ... granted it works great for fleas but it almost killed my staffie
Jerry L. replied:
Kindvet.comDr. Linda Oliva
Dan M. replied:
We love the family feel and care we get from our Vet, Tomball Animal Hospital (Dr. Jana Bruhn). Also, ears & butts are often a sign that it's allergies related. My 100 lb Chessie used to get mild & frequent ear infections before I started giving him OTC & generic Benedryl - 1 pill twice a day with his food. Or, if more serious, Dr. Jana can refer you to a animal allergy specialist
Alex D. replied:
Dr Oliva is the best!
Sarah A. replied:
Dr. French, Bear Branch Animal Clinic on 2978, super vet. We had that problem, yeast, change foods too.
Conor D. replied:

Diatomaceous earth. I had a bad ant and flea problem, and after a couple days of dusting the yard with this, there were absolutely no more issues with either.
Mary K. replied:
Just took my baby to the vet for the exact same thing. Yeast. Cost a little over 200.00. They cleaned the ear, did test to make sure it was that. Sent her home with steroids and stuff to clean her ear with. A really huge bottle of it. They are in Conroe off of 105 by the high school. http://westdavisvets.com/
Sandy F. replied:
I have english mastiffs who have the drop ears, thus hiding all sorts of ear problems. Bought treatment called EcoEars from Amazon which will clear up infection, bad odor, etc. It contains only natural and safe ingredients. Lotromin powder, anti fungal for athlete's foot will clear up any fungus and dry up inside of ear. There is also a product called Thornit powder available from the uk, very effective. Or you can get Revolution for your dog which takes care of heartworms, fleas and ear mites. Rebecca Hudson, DVM at Pet CheckUp and her staff, are my favorite. (281) 955-8560. Your dog is beautiful, by the way.
Drucella P. replied:

Amanda S. replied:
Shady Brook is wonderful! The value and care you get there is top notch. Credited and backed by the American Animal Hospital Association.
Amanda S. replied:
Shady Brook may be pricey but it's because they are top of the line. Top of the line staff, cutting edge and updated technology and they offer different forms of treatments. They have digital xray (which Critter Fixer does not), they have digital denta l xray (which Critter Fixer does not), they offer laser therapy (again, Critter Fixer does not) as well as laser surgery. They also have a chiropractor and acupuncturist on staff to help provide alternative treatments. Their boarding facility is clean and maintained. I understand they are pricey but you get what you pay for. I say this from a standpoint of both clinics, I've worked in both of them. Critter Fixer is great for discounted vaccines and some treatments. The DVM's there are knowledgeable and caring. Shady Brook is wonderful and has the GREATEST equipment outside of a specialist office.
