The casino has a hotel. Casa Grande has some inexpensive hotels. $50 a night.

Wild Horse Pass is wildly expensive! There are a lot of hotels on the I-10 at Chandler -- Super 8, Red Roof Inn, La Quinta... a whole bunch. If you are planning an extended stay, Holiday Inn has an extended stay hotel. Also, check Casa Grande. Its not far from Maricopa (about 20 minutes), just like Chandler. So, unless you need to be closer to Chandler for some reason, you could consider Casa Grande as an option and they have several hotels, as well. Or, check out VBRO (Vacation Rentals by Owner). Snowbirds lease out their homes by the week or month. And there are plenty in Maricopa. Would give you an opportunity to experience the neighborhoods while you are looking to buy.

We just moved from San Diego and i grew up there... If you're a AAA member you can go to any AAA office and get discount tickets to the zoo and safari park... If you're planning on going definitely go to the safari park up on Escondido it's one of a kind. There's also tons of things to do and museums at Balboa Park down right next to the zoo. Sea world is fun down by ocean beach There's several cliffs you can climb down and look at the tide pools ( Sunset Cliffs) Sea port village is great (make sure you buy something even if it's small and get your parking validated) There's the children's pool in La Jolla where you can look out and see the seals inches from you on the beach (dont touch they will bite) and you can go swimming in the water

The Grand Canyon is about 6 or so hours away same as Imperial Beach in California (The other side of the bay as Disneyland and a bit more affordable.)
