We just found out our 15 month old mastiff puppy tore her acl and needs surgery. Can anyone recommend a good orthopedic vet in the area?

Our dog just had acl surgery 2 days ago . Metropolitan Vet Hospital with Dr Tim Schwab. He trained at U of Penn. Wonderful care,. Went to two other hospitals about his ACL problem and did not have good experiences at all. It's near Valley Forge.

Call Dr. Steve Milden at Delaware Valley Vet in Mullica Hill. My boy tore his acl & meniscus in June and Doc Steve did his surgery. It cost me about $3,000 for everything (surgery, meds, cold laser treatments...). Doc Steve is a U of Penn graduate.

Check with Penn Vet. They were doing a study about dogs with single side acl tears. A friend just had her dog there and it was way cheaper because of the study.

I went to Robert Booth, but he's up at Aria near New Hope. Knee replacement surgery - a MIRACLE!!! I'm sure it hurt, I actually don't quite remember, (2003) but nothing compared to the pain which led up to it. Besides not being able to walk, laying in bed at night sometimes felt as though my knees were being twisted. Best of luck. Go to the very best you can possibly find! Rothman has a great reputation.

Rothman...only Rothman. Dr Frederick operated on my torn meniscus and I've been great for six years. Now I got a cortisone injection about once a year and I'm good. There's also a Synvisc which puts lubrication in the joint that the helps a lot too
