If you go and do an initial eye exam and he does need glasses, get the prescription and go to zennioptimal.com. glasses are 6.95 each and 1 shipping and handling fee so if you order 3 pairs its still the same shopping as 1. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good pediatric ophthalmologist? My pediatrician gave some recommendations, but they are all over the place. My son may have a...
Brighid K. replied:
Monte Mills at CHOP is a top doctor for "lazy eye." We go to him and almost always meet a family in the waiting room that's come from a very long distance to see him because they've been told by other doctors that they can't fix their kid's "lazy eye" (strabismus)
Jeanette M. replied:
Yes!! Dr. Robert Avery at CHOP, he's also a neurologist. Had my little guy in for a vision exam to rule out an issue and he picked up on something completely different (had to do with neurology). Go see him! So nice. And he's a dad of TWO sets of twin boys!
Nicole B. replied:
I love Dorothy Hendricks. She's in Dupont hospital, brynmawr hospital and wills eye. My 7 year old has the same problem. Runs in the family.
Colleen K. replied:
Dr. Cynthia Alley at Moore Eye Institute in Springfield is fantastic.
Beth C. replied:
Dr. Leonard Nelson, Wills Eye and also has an office in Bala Cynwyd - 484-434-2700 - my husband swears by him
Maestro J. replied:
Ophthalmic Partners of Philadelphia Dr Nelson. Affiliated with Wills Eye . He is the best. He trains the other doctors. Has an office in Bala Cynwyd and Wills Eye. Rated 2 nd in the nation which really bites since they trained #1 in Palm Beach. Majority of his patients are children but my husband developed a problem and Dr Nelson did a fabulous job.
Corky R. replied:
Dr. Jinn at Dupont.Shes an amazing Dr. My neice and grandson go to her they both love her and so does their parents.
Amy R. replied:
Dr. Ray Puzio in Wallingford diagnosed this same condition for a family member of mine, after it was missed by other providers. He did an excellent job of explaining it and treating it. Dr. Puzio has been treating me and my family for about 8 years now and we are very happy with the care he provides. He really takes the extra time to listen and explain, and to make sure any prescriptions he issues are very precise and accurate. He has a very kind and friendly personality and is very easy to talk to. He also has lots of frames right in the office and is great at helping match the patient to exactly the right frame. His patients are both children and adults.
Desiree D. replied:
Very highly recommend Dr. Martin Wilson at Kids Eyes. He's amazing!
Jennifer C. replied:
Dr. Brian Forbes@CHOP. He's amazing!!!!!
Kirsten H. replied:
I second Dr. Wilson at Kids Eyes. We've been going to him for 7 years now. He's fantastic.
Nicole M. replied:
Dr Martin Wilson in Paoili! He is amazing
Brighid K. replied:
We first went to Martin Wilson and he wanted to do surgery. Monte Mills told us to try something else before rushing into surgery and his odds of successful surgery were also better than Wilson's. Even though we'd been going to him about a year when he suggested surgery, Wilson hadn't even told me that my daughter was nearsighted and should try glasses before getting operated on for her lazy eye.
Kristin A. replied:
Martin Wilson. Been using him since my son was 2 (15 now). Two surgeries done flawlessly. Professional and courteous. Tried CHOP and wait times were ridiculous.
Need a recommendation for an ophthalmologist near me in Glen Mills for my 10 year old. The one recommendation I got is 40 mins away in Wilmington...anything closer?
Scott P. replied:
Dr Pasion in riddle. Great with kids
Donna C. replied:
Dr Paul Tapino in Media. Excellent with kids. Part of the Penn system.
Jennifer M. replied:
For kids Dr. Martin Wilson in Paoli is the best
Jessica G. replied:
I've been taking my oldest to Dr. Forbes for 15 years and now he also takes care of my youngest. He's a CHOP doc. He's a wonderful doctor. He performed surgery twice on my oldest. He's very compassionate and caring. Even though my oldest technically aged out of pediatrics he doesn't want anyone else seeing her because of how complicated her eye history is and he wants to continue to follow her. You can see him in Philly (yuck), Exton or the new CHOP building near Brinton Lake.
