I would recommend calling the JDRF office at 861-6550 and ask for Anita or Jennifer. They can help point you in the right direction and get you connected with lots of other resources.

She and her Father are both diabetic's,I joke with my hubby telling him,he should go see Dr.Logan. The nurses are very sweet too.

We just moved here and have a type 1 son who was diagnosed at 15 months. He is now 7. We are very encouraged to see great things written here about Dr. Logan as that is who we are scheduled to see next month. Annie, you obviously know a good amount about what's going on, but if you ever need support from a parent's side, let me know! Glad you guys had an eye out! We had no clue and his blood sugar was over 700 the first time the doctor checked it when he was diagnosed.

My daughter is type one and has been with Lebonheur since she was diagnosed four years ago. They are great. She sees Loretta Smith, who is the nurse practitioner, and Dr. Sinha.

We used Dr. Cohen with the Endocrine Clinic for my daughter. We really liked him.
Theresa D. replied:
I like Dr Diaz Thomas. I have worked with her at Le B and she is great with kids and families. One of my coworkers in the ED at Le B has used Dr Karabell and liked her too. Your insurance may dictate. Your Peds might call Endocrine or send you to the ED at Le B. That often gets you in quicker or deals with an immediate issue. Hope this helps and good luck!!!
I saw Lisa Myers when we lived in Memphis. Really liked her. Ralph Goodman is also suppose to be excellent.

Jay Cohen was Sarah's pediatrician years ago. He left peds for endocrinology. He was a fantastic peds doctor. I'll bet he is just as good as an endo doctor.
Lori L. replied:
His name is A. Jay Cohen. He's my doctor, and his nurse practitioners are fantastic as well- my best friend is one of them, Meris Whitley.
Audrey T. replied:
Dr. Ghawji. Don't see Cohen haha.... My dad is a retired endo and you could not pay him to have sent me to that man.
Audrey T. replied:
Jay Cohen
Melissa A. replied:
I have seen Alan Cohen. He's wonderful.
Cherie C. replied:
Dr. Ghawji was the worst doctor I've ever been to but I think he judged me based on my pink hair. He was extremely rude and argued with me for over an hour that I didn't have a thyroid condition which I'd been diagnosed with by many doctors over the co...See More

Jay Cohen is a pretty good doctor. Last time I saw him, though, was several years ago. His staff wasn't so terrific. Phlebotomist was terrible.
