Denise T. replied:
Dr. Mike M. Sandy is thorough, inexpensive and very personable. His office is next to the entrance of Costco at Winchester and Hacks Cross. I walked my new Rx next door and ordered good quality glasses for about $200 at Costco's Optical Dept.
Suzanne A. replied:
agree with Theresa Messina Locastro - all great people there, Dr. Hampton is our guy.
Gail J. replied:
I've changed husbands but not eye doctors! My stepsister has as well! heehee ;D That's how long Dr. Kenneth Weinberg has been my eye doctor, has to be almost 30 years (Dr. & I were both VERY young at my first appointment! lol). In the 80's he had an office in the Lakeland Outlet Mall as well, my first visit. He is incredibly thorough - I strayed ONE TIME when I did some work for another optometrist who gave me a free exam and 2 pair of glasses. My next appt. with Dr. Weinberg was 'eye opening' to say the least. During the exam, he said "you must be having headaches"... And I HAD- horrible and frequent (I thought they were stress related, never considered the eyeglasses!). He showed me how both pair I had been given were not just the wrong prescription, but they didn't even match each other! One was one RX, the other was another RX. And the lens shape/contour was off, and I don't remember the third thing wrong. Arg! So when I got my new glasses from Dr. Weinberg- NO MORE HEADACHES! It also speaks highly of him that he has almost NO staff turnover. His demeanor is comfortable, very pleasant and I love his understated sense of wit and humor. He carries value frames to high end/fashion. If you can't decide on a frame, he and his staff are a huge help in assisting in choosing a style that is right for your face. LASTLY, he really made a difference when he suggested I get a pair of computer glasses. ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD. I love and highly recommend computer glasses, a must if your profession is computer-driven. Optical Outlet Eastgate 826 Mt. Moriah at Park Dr. Kenneth Weinberg 683-3232
Denise T. replied:
Theresa Messina Locastro, mine are triple progressive lenses in a lightweight frame (with fishing line holding the lens in place) and safety composition. All the bells and whistles. With the visit to Dr. Sandy, and no insurance, I was out a total of $297.00. When I visited neighborhood shops, the frames alone started in the hundreds.

I'm in need of a good, cheap optometrist…any suggestions? I've got some pretty serious weirdness going on with these broke ass eyes of mine.
Katie W. replied:
Yes! I am one point away from being legally blind in my left eye and I have astigmatisms, so I always research the cheap and good since I have no health insurance. It's suburbs, though. Eyes for You in Cordova. A year of contacts and two pairs of glasses was less than $300. The first time I went to Eclectic Eye for the same stuff and it was in the thousands (seriously). And everyone there was beyond sweet--big points.
Mo A. replied:
Eyes for you then go to Zennie.com for glasses
Elliot A. replied:
Sams Club or Costco, you don't need to be a member to see their optometrist. I always used them when I didn't have insurance.

Definitely Drs. Paul and Bud Mormon at Eyecare East for regular vision evaluations! That's where I go. I wouldn't get glasses done at Walmart.. Most of the prescription lenses cut at Walmart came back incorrect when I used to work for an ophthalmologist. If a kid had an issue with his new glasses, it was usually because they had them made at Walmart.
Loran G. replied:
