Do you even know what our town has to offer? I keep seeing posts where people are requesting things...things we already have! It makes wonder, tho we all live in...
Andy K. replied:
Nila... We need find a way to have those people stop and open their wallets at our shops. Not just drive through and just say.... Ah~ It's pretty town. That's the goal and that's the only way we can all survive. How we stop them at Metuchen shops...! That is the key.

The Metuchen Chamber of Commerce website has a business directory.
Tyreen R. replied:
Charlie Silverman - yes they do, but it's only Chamber members, and I think it's less than half of businesses in town belong (I think that's the stat I heard at the 3/17/14 council meeting, I could be wrong on the #)
Tyreen R. replied:
yes - they welcome members from outside Metuchen, too. "Metuchen AREA Chamber of Commerce." Basically, businesses that have an interest in doing businesses in Metuchen.
Tyreen R. replied:
Nila, I believe The Pines is a member of the MACC, yes. And that's great that they are - they support all the events here in town. They are just outside the borough limits, and the only big conference / banquet thing around. Christine - I get what you mean about a local directory, but its a membership organization. If someone in Freehold wants to support Metuchen's business community and the events here, why not?

I've also been keeping a list of Downtown Metuchen businesses in a Foursquare list. Just merged a bunch from the BIL list into the Foursquare list. Any suggestions for any I've left off, please let me know. https://foursquare.com/workingsandbox/list/downtown-metuchen
Anyone know a local caterer (I am thinking a home business type, not one of our local restaurants or delis) that I can contact for a Valentine event in Metuchen? Will...

My husband is a Chef and has done numerous fundraisers and catering events in Metuchen. Inbox me if you would like and you can google his name Chef John Harkness to read up on his work. He currently works in the food industry, but does private catering events. He just did a fundraiser dinner that he was auctioned off at Project Graduation for MHS.

Caroliners -- looking for BBQ restaurant recommendations somewhere reasonably close to I-95 anywhere in North Carolina ...Whatchu got?
Ben Y. replied:
This is where I always go for such info: http://www.roadfood.com/
Stacy W. replied:
My husband travels that route frequently. He said Ralph's BBQ in Weldon is good. He thinks it might be a couple miles off 95 and it is a sit down place. He also said any Smithfield BBQ ( it's a chain) is good.
