Ok highland! I'm looking for a new doctor. Has anyone used dr Jon Barber? If so what has your experience been with him?

I really like Dr. Debra VanOrt in Commerce. She takes a lot of time to talk with you, review symptoms, discuss options. Very thorough and personable as well as an excellent family doctor.

Would never go back to him - saw him over 5 years ago and see some things haven't changed. The wait was horrible and he loves to prescribe meds and put you thru tests. Currently see DR Catherine Guido - Awesome!!

I used to go to Dr Barber. He is a smart man. Diagnosed my rare disease. But he is overwhelmed. His staff is awful...rude, lazy...they don't get your referrals in time, lose paperwork, etc. You will WAIT, even when you show up early. My average wait time was 2-3 hours, but there were times I waited 4+ hours. As time went on, Barber himself got more and more questionable as the stress seemed to overwhelm him. He started to seem like he was always on the verge of a nervous breakdown. And it got harder and harder to actually see him and not get stuck with a PA that did nothing but try to push scripts on you without making sure you need them. If you're just looking for a painkiller fix, I suppose that's the place to go. If you want someone to actually look at you and run tests, go somewhere else. In the beginning, Barber was awesome for running tests and seeing things through...that was 9 years ago. His practice is a mess now. It's actually kind of sad, because he really is a smart man, he just seemed to give up and let his terrible staff run the show. I stopped going there about 2 years ago. Oh, and I was told by another office that he has been banned from practicing through Huron Valley Hospital. You might want to check into that.

I started seeing a lady in his office last week. I got more done there in one visit then what I did for 2 years with Dr. Lepley. So for now I'm happy see what the future brings
