Have u seen the IKEA kura bed? Our girls have it and it's pretty awesome. If you Google 'ikea kura bed ideas' there are infinite # of ways to make it work in an space. Don't know how much interest you have in DIY but when IKEA doesnt have what we want we have used different plans we found on this site to make our own stuff (like a dress up rack/bin) http://ana-white.com/
