Our house was built in 1908, and we needed someone to sand and refinish the old part of the floor, and install new floors but match the old floors as much as possible. You can't even tell in our Living Room / Dining Room that 1/2 the floor is very old and 1/2 is new! We used a guy named Bill who a few coworkers recommended - he was great, and reasonably priced. 951-232-3103. We used him 4 years ago, so hopefully the phone # is still good. We also had issues with the floor not being level.

Wish I had pictures to show! We almost couldn't believe it was the same floor! Turned out beautiful and he was reasonably priced.

He is an excellent muralist: He worked on the careful restoration of the murals in the San Gabriel Civic Auditorium, and was also hired by the City of Culver City to paint exterior murals in their Arts District. His portfolio (which he would be happy to show you) also includes work in several private residences, and his skills include trompe l'oeil work and faux finishes.
