Can anyone recommend a furniture store(need not be in the WI) where I can buy contemporary wood furniture specifically for a bedroom? Not interested in box stores like...
Rosa P. replied:
You should try Ameublement A. Denis & Fils in St-Lazare. We found most of our furniture there.

Where can I find used furniture Store in Montreal? Hi Montreal! I was looking for a store with good used furnitures for furnish my apartment, can you recommend me some...
sirhelix replied:
Around Papineau and Sherbrooke there are a lot of used appliance stores. I imagine there are used furniture stores in the area. Also, most Salvation Army stores don't have much furniture, but the one on Notre Dame and Guy is amazing. Its whole upstairs is like a furniture warehouse.
tabernac replied:
Try the [Montreal Mega Reuse Centre](http://mtlmegareusecenter.com/). It's a veritable warehouse full of junk, mostly in reasonable condition, with prices to match. The owner's a pretty cool guy and will be helpful.

Craigslist or Kijiji
Prof_G replied:
cheapest will be kijiji or craigslist. used stores are not popular around here. Salvation army have some stuff, but not a lot. Or get new at Ikea for cheap. Sometimes, considering the bed bug scare, new might be better.

Just search online - craigslist > kijij.. I'm selling a single bed, 4 years old + sheets and pillows for $125 but you can have it for $90 - reddit discount. (haha, thought I'd try.)

We have this thing called IKEA. It's pretty sweet. Of you are in the money printing business, Roche Bobois or Maison Corbeil?

Can't really get good quality for 2000$ unless you go used. I recommend article.com, they make nice furniture made affordable by having no physical store and minimal advertising.

Had a great experience purchasing a sofa from Ethan Allen a few years ago, although prices were somewhat cheaper before.
OneOddCanadian replied:
Not the cheapest, and not always a huge selection, but EQ3 and Artemano are two of my favourites. Great quality and a lot of their items (if not the majority) are made here.
Caniapiscau replied:
Structube, EQ3 et EDB (Élément de base) sont ceux qui me viennent en tête.

Of all the 'big' chain stores, JC Perreault is probably the least icky one. The one in Kirkland also has a La-Z-Boy gallery attached to it, they've been recently making less hideous couches, might be worth checking it out.

I'd recommend Galerie danoise, in front of the Ikea in Montréal. We got a nice Palliser sectional couch (made in Canada) + footrest (is that how you call a "pouf"?) for 2500$ including taxes and shipping. The seller was quite pushy, I'll admit, and he made us a deal because we were hesitant and he seemed pretty desperate. Anyway I'd say it's worth a visit, they have nice stuff.

Strangely enough, even though it looks like a clone of Brault and Martineau, I've always had a good experience at Leon. Furniture looks the same to me, price was better, and not harassed.
What are the best furniture stores in the West Island? Looking for sectional/coffee table/sleeper sofa. Not familiar with any as we just moved here. Thanks!
