Do you actually need a pediatric ophthalmologist? Does ur child have eye issues? If just in need of glasses possibly then I would recommend Lisa Drate Jacobson. She is an optometrist at Eye Associates of Needham She will perform all eye tests, check for glasses dilate eyes to look for diseases behind eyes. I am the technician in office and highly recommend her Eye Associates of Needham 400 Hillside Ave Needham, MA 781-444-6610

Jill C. replied:
Everyone recommended Dr Bhatt to me as well - she was great. But you have to often wait months for an appt with her - I tried to get one in November and she was booking for February! Both the other doctors in the practice are good too.
Does anyone out there have a dentist and an eye doctor in the area that they love and can recommend? Need for both the kids and adults.
Thanks!

I'll tell you one to AVOID. Dr. Deanna Ricker on Chestnut Street. She has the worst office manners and disorganized appts. of any doctor I've ever been to. In Wellesley, I've gone to New England Eye Center, 1 Washington Street (down in the Falls area on the Newton line). Dr. Caroline Baumal781-237-6770 - she treated my mother-in-law after cataract surgery and was very kind. That office is very well run - and you don't have to wait a ridiculous amount of time and there's a TV in the waiting room. BTW, I had cataract surgery in September through New England Eye Center and it was a huge success!
Can anyone recommend a good eye doctor (ophthalmologist) for my daughter? Looking for something more then just a routine vision check.

So, here's my feel good story re: Dr. Gold…. About 15 yrs ago. My eye was hurting, had no idea why. I had no health insurance. I got in to see Dr. Gold, explained my financial dilemma immediately. He asked how much money I had with me, I told him I had brought $50 with me. So, that's what he charged me. Turns out I had a piece of plastic (from when I opened a CD case packaging) imbedded in the white of my eye. He removed it and everything was fine! The normal charge for an emergency visit like this: $300 !!! His generosity amazed me!
