I'm recovering from a right total knee replacement (4 weeks on Tuesday) and I am so impressed. I had the left done 4 years ago and I am so very pleased! Carl Talmo at The Baptist in Boston. He is THE BEST! And I've had 14 knee surgeries (something I've suffered with from birth) and he is amazing!! He was also one of my Dad's residents so I trust he learned from the best! Get in touch and I'll fill you in!

I didn't trust NWH because they told me to get a knee replacement (I'm 25!) so I found Dr Erik Burkson at MGH - absolutely the best orthopedic for knees I've ever met!! He fixed my knee issues with an extremely simple procedure and no knee replacement at all!
Ilene H. replied:
I used Dr. Polivey at Newton Wellesley for my neck, back and knee injury! He was great! if you need surgery though, NE Baptist is the best place to go, IMHO. I have NO idea about NW and knee surgeries, but my Dad's knees from the Baptist worked great.
Karen S. replied:
Go to the Baptist. Dr. Bono. All they do are bones.

Not NWH, but Dr David Mattingly. He operates out of the Baptist..his office is on Rte 9 a short distance from Chestnut Hill Mall. He does hips and knees. He did a total hip replacement on both my hips and I know many people who have had knee replacements done by him. Good luck with your decision.

Dr. Gommol at BWH Cartilage Repair Center (850 Boylston) is a great doctor & very nice person. He's not just cartilage, but he is focused on repair & rehab first. He's worked on me. He also works with Dr. Tom Minas. I'm scheduled for surgery with Wolfgang Fitz at the Faulkner, who has a great team and excellent stats. (Just the fact that he publishes his stats on surgeries, infection rates, etc. tells me a lot.)
