This guy treated my mother and did a cataract surgery on a friend. Both were happy with him: https://connects.catalyst.harvard.edu/profiles/display/Person/17068

I had this for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratitis (I also had a good doctor for that but he was in Waltham). The retina guy is actually not in Longwood, but in MGH -- but it is not very far (he was really good).

Has anyone ever ordered glasses online? Do I call my eye doctor to get my prescription? Any website recommendations?
Jocelyn M. replied:
I second Warby Parker. I just asked for a copy of my prescription from my doc.
Jax C. replied:
zenni optical. they literally start at 6 bucks. you need your PD number, which your dr will have to measure for you (it's the length bw your pupils). I have been buying glasses from them for 6 years now. Shipping is dirt cheap, but usually takes a couple of weeks, bc they come from China. But, I have friend who works in luxury eyewear, and everything comes from China. They basically just glue on the logos, nothing special between zenni and high end frames. I actually just purchased a designer frame last month, because I felt that maybe I had been doing something wrong for my eyes, and there isn't a difference at all. Just order a few pairs, because when you order online it's hard to tell really which size will fit your face nicely (although they do have numbers you can use to measure). You get an idea the second time you order, though. zennioptical.com ~happy shopping!
Alex S. replied:
Absolutely call doc for prescription - and I third Warby Parker!
