First Baptist Nursery School is great. Both of my boys went there and I loved the teachers, the small class size, and the fact that they had an opportunity to interact on a regular basis with kids and teacher in the other age group. Two classes with a middle room provides this opportunity and also a third teacher. They also have the option to stay for lunch if you choose which extends the day until 2:15. http://firstbaptistnursery.org/

My daughter is at Gan Aliyah and loves it. For that age is a 3-day program 9-12 but can be flexible if only need 2 days. I believe the class will have 8-9 kids and two teachers. Very small and nurturing preschool. Email debbi at debbi@templealiyah.com

Cradles to Crayons is well respected. For new toys and crafts, you could also consider Birthday Wishes. They are in Newton and provide gifts and party items for children in shelters. http://birthdaywishes.org/

You could also ask Penny Kirk from the Needham Housing Authority as there's a community room that the kids there love to go to. ❤

There are so many great pre-schools in the area. Off the bat I would recommend Carter. http://www.cartercenterforchildren.org
Kim N. replied:
Without hesitation - Carter Center for Children! The staff are all fantastic and there is low turnover in an enriching and joyful environment. Located in a church, it has several outside playgrounds / shaded lawns and a large inside play area, in addition to the four classroom spaces. Since Needham Public Schools only offers half-day kindergarten, they provide transportation so its a seamless transition from school to Carter during the last year of pre-school. Friendships that are made at Carter often continue into their teenage years, and many former students return to volunteer / do community service hours. Best to sign up NOW because its such a popular pre-school that they often have a waiting list.
Jennifer B. replied:
Lots of great ones in the area, we love Precious Beginnings in Dover- just over the Needham Line. They have the biggest out door play area I have seen, so several planned thought the year. This Friday they have the dads in for Fathers Day Coffee. The director/owner is wonderful and the teachers are great. You can google and check out their website online.
