The Boston Nature Center preschool is pretty amazing and popular. Your child may need to be 2.9 to start there. Both of my boys went to Tiny Tots at the RCC. It's a play-based program and only 1/2 day, 8:30-noon but my kids did really well there and my husband and I were very happy with it. It's also VERY affordable. My younger son also did a year at Grandma's Montessori because he was too young to start at Tiny Tots. It really wasn't the right fit for my kids / our family but I've heard many parents have loved it.

Willow Path is fantastic, although they very likely have a wait list. But give them a call, people move around in the summer.

Boston Nature Center is really wonderful. Our 4 year old started there when he was 3. It is play based and almost all outdoors (they go outside everyday, even in the winter). I think 2.9 is the earliest age, and there is a waiting list, but we got in on a whim in August.
