My husband and I just moved to the area and are looking for a surgical veterinarian office to fix our dogs bilateral ACL tear in New Milford or any of the surrounding...

Park lane, Dr Dinwiddie is the othro specialist in the area, plus they are fantastic there! https://www.facebook.com/1389083121371021 Park Lane Animal Hospital
Marianne S. replied:
Park Lane Animal Hospital - Dr Dinwiddie is an expert ortho surgeon and the staff is incredible
Amanda H. replied:
Roxbury Animal Clinic is awesome. They are all very nice AND their rates can't be beat. low fees does NOT mean poor care. Some other local vets are 3 x as much money for routine appointments and are no where near as nice.
Jennifer C. replied:
We used Mill Plain Vet (Sheldon Steinmetz is their surgeon) for our husky's ACL replacements one year apart. The dog can still run like a champion at age 10-1/2 so clearly the work was done well.
Kari A. replied:
Candlewood Animal Hospital They have a surgeon that comes in Dr. Pacchiana. AMAZING with our pup!!!She had her ACL done a few years ago and is 12 now. She is still doing great on her leg. Highly recommend him and also their practice if looking for a new vet.
Megan L. replied:
Newtown Vetinary Specialists did both of my dog's ACL repairs. Feel free to message me if you want any more information =)
Jonathan C. replied:
Fieldstone vet in Fairfield. They are clean, nice, good, and affordable. They do payment plans for almost anything
Heather C. replied:
Park Lane Animal Hospital. Dr Dinwiddie did ACL surgery on my 6 year old Australian Shepherd last year. I can't say enough good things about the care she recieved both during the surgery and in after care!

Park Lane and Roxbury Animal Clinic are the best! My boxer had that same surgery 2 years ago. I'd consider going to see Gail Henderson at Paws & Paddle in Marbledale first. We go there for physical therapy with our pup and Gail is so knowledgeable and puts your and your dogs needs first! We thought our Kaya would have to have a second surgery on the opposite leg but Gail was able to make that not happen and we are so happy! http://www.pawsandpaddle.com/testimonials.html

Dr Dinwiddie at Park Lane Animal Hospital is fantastic
HI there. Please read the link I am posting. My dog had this and it was going to cost over $3500 (for 1) I opted to NOT get his surgery. He was 10 at the time and is 12 now and is doing great. Your pups symptoms may be different but I promise you its worth the read.http://www.tiggerpoz.com/ Good luck :)
Pauline B. replied:
Park Lane Animal Hospital: if Dr. Dinwoodie could be my Primary care and surgeon I would do it. So great with all my dog both owned and rescued ... he also won't have you spend money needlessly. He will get quiet and think carefully before answering a question. He treats mine like they are his own. The man has seen us at the bottom of a grief pit and is one of the kindest and skilled DVM's I've known.
Bonnie W. replied:
Probably best to find a new local veterinarian and follow their recommendations. Many DVMs do not do that surgery, it often requires a specialist. Newtown Veterinary Specialists or Animal Medical Specialists in Middletown CT are the ones I have had first hand positive experience with. Good luck!

Amy D. replied:
Park Lane Animal Hospital! They are beyond amazing!
Jillian F. replied:
Pampered Pets!! We have been to other groomers (shih tzu and pekingese) in the area. Pampered Pets gives your dog individualized attention because they don't book a bunch at the same time. You bring your baby there and they are just finishing up with their last one, and go right to yours. They don't sit in a cage all day like at other places. And they are the gentlest, most caring people ever. Erica & Jen, they are fantastic! Did I mention they are also extremely reasonably priced. Lower than other places I have been. They have every right to ask for more $!
Jillian F. replied:
As for a vet, we really like Park Lane Animal Hospital. We have been to other places and what I like about them, besides how loving they are, is that they don't recommend a bunch of unnecessary tests. My shih tzu was very sick with a mast cell tumor. At the time, Dr. Dinwiddie would talk to me after hours, make late night calls and help me get him more comfortable. He has a huge heart. His wife, Dr. Nelson is also very, very smart and intuitive. They knew right away when he was in sepsis and got it under control immediately. The vet techs are also very gentle and caring. One cried right with me when my beloved dog passed away. I have never met anyone like them.
Amanda T. replied:
LeeAnn I have a shih tzu as well, we love Pampered Pets (next to Stop&Shop plaza), they're very kind and patient with my dog, with reasonable prices. We love Dr. Gorra at Aspetuck Animal Hospital. He saved her life when she was an 8 week old puppy and he's wonderful. Hope this helps! Welcome to town!

Bruce J. replied:
The Complete Cat, Brookfield. Dr. Sharon Eisen is great!
Leslie T. replied:
Dr Elwell is no longer in practice. He retired, sold his business to Dr. Carlson.
Anne M. replied:
Dr. Elwell is mostly retired, Dr. Carlson is still there. I think they stopped taking spay certificates, but they have very resonable prices and will work with you- they rather see the animal be spayed than contribute to more of the cat population. Females do need to stay overnight, but come home the next morning.
Looking for a vet that is really good with treating cats. We have two cats who are almost 2 years old. Place we've been going just hasn't been that great with them....
