There are an abundance of rides and riders on the northshore. You might try joining the local Facebook group and connecting directly with other locals. There is great cycling on your side of the lake. https://www.facebook.com/groups/213862775392103/?fref=nf Besides that, NOBC does a bunch of weekly rides, some more formal than others, but most at a brisk pace. Semi-Tough Cycling Club (STCC) also offers a bunch of weekly rides, with the Friday ride being the easiest option.

If you're in Covington/Mandeville, the bike shops would be Bike Zone and The Spokesman. Yes, the 6:45 Saturday ride that does the Giro route is a little bit more gentle than the actual Giro. There are usually weekend group rides on the northshore as well, so you will want to find the Northshore Cycling FB group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/213862775392103/). Most of those rides are also posted to the NOBC email list (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/nobc-members/info).
