Head across the lake to the north shore. No major crime, the best schools, great family atmosphere, tons of resources. I left the south shore 10 years ago and LOVE Mandeville/Covington.

Doggie day care recommendations I have to be in New Orleans for a week for training and I was wondering if there were any cheap, reputable day cares I could put my 2...

Doggie play camp! I use them all the time. John the owner is a dog lover himself and own two dogs. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Doggie-Play-Camp/147739775285240

We've had good experiences with Scout's Pet Care (Scoutspetcare.com).
The two recommendations I have: Camp Bow Wow and Doggy Play Camp. Camp Bow Wow is a franchised chain (also in New Orleans), I've used them in other states and they are great. I haven't used the one here though, so I can't tell you anything particular about this location. Doggy Play Camp is local, it run by a local guy (John) and it is another good option. You said you have big dogs, so that might be a good fit. Usually the dog day care places want to do a test run so you'll want to also consider which ones work for you and your schedule this week as you prepare for next week. I think that Kleinpeter Vet has a dog day care, as does Highland Road Animal Hospital, but since I have not used them, I can't speak with any sort of insight on how things work there. And since you are commuting, watch out for "late" pick up options and charges. Hope this helps! Good luck.

Canine Connections on Tchoup. We used to board our dog there but never did the daycare thing. I think they have 2 different pools for dogs. Really nice people and I have been told reasonable rates. https://canineconnectionnola.com/

Puppy Love on Athania in Metairie. It's near the intersection of Causeway and Veterans, so it might be convenient if you're commuting from Kenner to Ochsner. It's a small business, and they really love the dogs. It has live web cams, as well.

I take my dog to the camp bow wow on tchoup, he loves it and it's reasonably priced, 18 for a half day (

Mid-city animal house is actually fairly great. They don't have the biggest yard but the people who run it are fantastic and my dog always leaves really happy, unlike a few other places I've dropped her off. (I'm not going to name them as it might just be her.)

I've seen a few car magnets for camp bow wow

I can't speak to the daycare, but Pet Paradise is great for boarding and is on Airline right by the airport.

Your gumbo looks tasty. Missing corn though.

I used camp bow-wow in mid-city for a while, but ended up switching to the NOLA Bark Market which is in my neighborhood. Bow-wow changed ownership or something and became pricier and less convenient. Bark Market is nice but you need to call ahead if you're not a regular -- they fill up a lot. No cameras, but my dog CLEARLY loves the place.

Through my company, we get a subscription to Bright Horizons. They offer last-minute back-up care through one of their approved agencies in the city. We've used their nurses for baby-sitting from Gifted Nurses and have been very happy. 1-877-242-2737.
"Date night" or "Drop-In" Daycare I'll be visiting in a couple months and will have the little one with me. Can anyone recommend some kind of drop in daycare?
fizznubby replied:
You can abandon your child at any fire station where you see those yellow Safe Space signs. Most of our city departments respond so slowly to any situation that I'd say you will have several hours to get plastered, eat an over-hyped on Zomato meal, flip your rental car and pick the kid back up before child services even gets a phone call.

Most hotels that have concierge services will have a list of nannies they can call upon for you. Expect to pay well for it.

I have a kid and as far as I know this doesn't exist. There's too much paperwork associated with running a day care that would limit this idea. Shot records, releases, etc. You could probably find a babysitter via an online service but I don't know of any professional day cares that operate at night, for one off days, or tourists.
Honestly not sure. Try emailing Admissions@lfno.org

We used Mattie's Little Angels on Valence & Magazine for 3.5 years then did french immersion at Ecole Bilingue for PreK4. EB also has a french immersion day care but it follows a school year schedule so that makes summers difficult. We were on the waiting list for Abeona House for a few years too. I like them all and the other ones mentioned above. Its definitely easier to find something these days than it was the summer of '06:)
Iso: a good inexpensive day care in the Terrytown area???? I need something quick, but with great reviews. My son is 10 months old and is a great baby.
