Does anyone know if there is a local veterinarian`s (closer than Portsmouth) who will do an emergency visit on the weekend?
Kerri R. replied:
there's that new animal hospital in salsibury. this is what their website says "If your pet is having an emergency during our regular office hours, please call and let us know you are on your way (978-463-3309). For after-hours emergencies, please call our main telephone number for instructions, or contact Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital in Portsmouth, NH.
Bulger Animal Hospital978-725-5544 They have always been great with us and for our pets. Good luck.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I took her to Amesbury Animal Hospital. She had some minor surgery, and is pretty groggy. She was in bad shape, so I`m thrilled that they were available. So, for anyone who needs them, Amesbury Animal Hospital has emergency hours available on the weekends!

Can anyone recommend a good veterinarian? My beloved Dr Richards is closing his practice.
Alison M. replied:
Dr. Tom Murtha at NAHAH (North Andover Haverhill Animal Hospital)..he is a vet & surgeon, writes nationally recognized protocols, he owns the place & grew up with his dad who was a vet too. He helped Zoe when 4 other vets couldn't. Prices are super reasonable and he gives 20 off for new clients. Great staff, super clean & cute office & the best part is that he is available for emergency visits too, nights & weekends. http://www.nahah.net/about-us/doctor/

Windham Animal Hospital on route 28....very friendly staff, extended hours and very reasonable rates! (yes, I have definitely done the homework regarding prices ) ...they do some work for our rescue as well. I don't use them myself ONLY because it is too far from my home. I sent Kurt Veit there with his little Miss Prinny, he can tell you they are great too!
I have an adult chicken with a broken toe. Does anyone know of a Vet around that treats chickens? Going to call Bulger tomorrow to ask them. Anyone taken one to a Vet.?
North C. replied:
You might call Andover Animal Hospital too. They have an avian vet there. Not sure if he sees birds other than exotics, but might be a place to start!
