He also does talk about his research on the Documentary "Under Our Skin" which is a great documentary to watch about Lyme Disease, and you can find many of his videos on youtube. Much of his research is about connection of Lyme with Alzheimer's, but he has also done research about the connection with MS and ALS. Hope this helps!

They gave you 1 day? Ugh!!! You need to find a LLMD or ND who can prescribe. If no one is in your area from the group - you can contact ilads.org for the closest ilad trained Dr to you.

@Jerry, please never, never, ever do this again. "DO NOT apply substances such as petroleum jelly, finger nail polish, finger nail polish remover, repellents, pesticides, or a lighted match to the tick while it is attached. These materials are either ineffective, or worse, might agitate the tick and cause it to force more infective fluid into the wound site. " There is only one correct, safe way to remove a tick; http://www.lymedisease.org/lyme101/prevention/tick_removal.html
Vicki P. replied:
Melissa beat me to it. No doxy for kids. They use amoxicillin for kids. From Dr. B "Children: 50 mg/kg/day divided into q8 h doses." "TICK BITES" "Embedded Deer Tick With No Signs or Symptoms of Lyme (see appendix): Decide to treat based on the type of tick, whether it came from an endemic area, how it was removed, and length of attachment (anecdotally, as little as four hours of attachment can transmit pathogens). The risk of transmission is greater if the tick is engorged, or of it was removed improperly allowing the tick's contents to spill into the bite wound. High-risk bites are treated as follows (remember the possibility of co-infection!): 1) Adults: Oral therapy for 28 days. 2) Pregnancy: Amoxicillin 1000 mg q6 h for 6 weeks. Test for Babesia, Bartonella and Ehrlichia. Alternative: Cefuroxime axetil 1000 mg q12 h for 6 weeks. 3) Young Children: Oral therapy for 28 days." http://www.ilads.org/lyme/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

39 is highly lyme specific according to my son's llmd (i have band 39). google Dr Horowitz lyme bingo. I would say you should look further into this.
Debbie L. replied:
I'm assuming the child is fatigued and probably in pain and not interested in life much??? This looks positive for lyme. I'd take those results to a LYME LITERATE doctor. You can find one near you by going onto ilads.com and go under the tab contacts I think it is, complete info, and they will email you a list of LLMD in your area. The spirochete bacteria can be a few other things like syphilis but highly doubt it so don't believe any Bs doctor telling you it's not enough for lyme. Say I don't care what bacteria it is, it needs to be treated.
Ashleigh C. replied:
Most likely Positive. Find an LLMD ASAP. you can also look at NK CD 57, IgG subclass 1-4, IgG A/M/G/E, component C4 a and C3. ILADS can send you LLMD referrals in your area, click on the link below, fill out the form and they will send you names within a few days. http://ilads.org/ilads_media/physician-referral/

Kristy T. replied:
Yes! You definitely should but don't depend on tests alone. ILADS.org is a great place to get the important basics. Many of us use the lab Igenex. Where are you? Hopefully some one near you can help with finding a local Lyme literate physician. Many get multiple infections from the same tick or even multiple bites. Coinfections can be just as bad or worse than just Lyme.

I have to disagree on Mary Colpoys in Old Lyme. She was so mean to me & she made me cry because I didn't loose weight as quickly as she thought I should. I asked the front desk to have another doctor from the practice call me as I would not see Dr. Colpoys again, they did not call after two requests a week apart. I left after being a patient for quite some time. In my opinion, she has zero bedside manner. Dr. Satti at that same practice is wonderful. I usually don't express negative opinions, but I still feel bad about my experience with this doctor 3 years later!

Jenn W. replied:
- dry brushing - Epson Salt baths - Lymphatic Massage - Cranial Massage - Rebounder - Infared Sauna - Charcoal - Lemon Water - lots all day - Super Clean Diet - Juicing Greens - Castor Oil Packs - Oil Pulling - Enemas / colonics - Clay body masks - Digestive Enzymes
Debbie B. replied:
Coffee enemas / Gerson therapy type diet / foods can be great for detox and liver. But add something like dry brushing or rebounder to move those lymphs too. So important. Don't ignore the lymphs. They can accumulate so much toxins and need to be moved during detoxing.

Bulls eye rash is positive for Lyme, period. No test required. But, as you'll learn, the medical community is in denial of chronic Lyme. The questioning will sadly continue. Find a Lyme literate doctor, looks like connections above will get you there. While you're searching, look for one of the books to learn more. "How Can I Get Better?" By Dr. H or a Dr. B has a book out too. Can I just say it's beautiful to see a significant other fighting alongside the patient? So many relationships struggle when chronic illness enters the picture. Keep up the effort, health, and the man you know, is on the other side of the battle. You rock!
