Herbal protocols work. The Buhner protocol is available for free on his website...he lets you know what to take and gives links where you can get the herbs. http://buhnerhealinglyme.com/. I decided to spend the money on herbals and supplements rather than see an llmd and spend $$$. I'm on an all inclusive protocol based on Buhner and am feeling pretty good. I still have about 10% to 20% to go and will be on some kind of maintenance for a long time. I see my integrative pcp(in network) for any labs I need such as CD57, Epstein Barr, liver enzymes, etc.

Here is the sad reality....standard testing misses about 50% of all positive cases of lyme. Even if you get a positive test the average doctor is only going to treat you for 30 days at most.. If you have been sick for a while 30 days is not nearly enough - it is a drop in the bucket.. Since you cannot afford an LLMD (and I do understand) your best bet is to learn all you can about herbal protocols - in particular I like Stephen Buhner as Pam has already recommended.
