I use the humane society animal hospital. Very good vets and very upfront with pricing. Also supports a better cause

I can't speak from personal experience, but I've heard that [First Coast No More Homeless Pets](https://www.fcnmhp.org/) is able to provide unusually low prices for their vet services because they handle higher volumes of pet patients than most private vet clinics or something.

Animal Care Center on St John’s Bluff Road, Southside area. Not sure what your idea of affordable is, but their team is truly fantastic. Wonderful with pets and people. Our Charlotte picked up an ear mite infestation and they fit us in same day no problem, took the time to confirm the issue (and let us see them under the microscope for those with morbid curiosity) and got her medication done on the spot. They also hooked her up with a swag bag of cat food, a free month of advantage flea/tick/mite/worm medication, her very own pet folio thingie, and even a cool turtle toy with catnip to put inside. They’re good people.

Bit of a drive for you if you’re located in Orange Park, but I’m a big fan of *San Marco Animal Hospital*. Both of the vets there a great.

This is a fair drive from Orange Park, but just in case you’re willing to make the trip, or if anyone else is looking for one as well: I really like Dr. Williams at Deerwood Animal Clinic. It’s by the intersection of Baymeadows and Old Baymeadows. I started taking my dog here when I moved to Jax a couple years ago. Last year, my dog developed a chronic condition, and they’ve handled it wonderfully. Dr. Williams always patiently answers all of my questions, and gives it to me straight regarding how concerned I should be about his condition’s various side effects. They’re not *super* cheap, but the prices have been a little cheaper than what I was used to in St. Louis. They also almost always offer coupons for things like prescription food, heartworm prevention, etc. And even though I discovered that my dog had a loose tooth in early January, they honored their annual February “dental month” discount to get it removed and clean his teeth a month early, so that it wouldn’t cause any problems if left untreated. Can’t recommend them enough. Since moving, I’ve also adopted a puppy. I took her to First Coast No More Homeless Pets for one of her rounds of shots due to the lower costs there. They were nice there, although a bit more rushed than at Deerwood. In addition to being cheaper overall, they offer some free or discounted services depending on your income as well. They also offer a “trap, neuter, return” program for feral cats, which is really cool. I didn’t go back because I’d only really be able to make it for evening appointments due to work. Rush hour traffic made the drive a pain for me, and as a single woman walking around at night with a small puppy, I didn’t really like the area. But, otherwise it seems like a great solution for affordability. After that, I wound up taking her to the Humane Society for her spay surgery, since those are pretty cheap there. I didn’t interact with anyone there too much, but they seemed nice. My only complaint was that the parking lot was incredibly confusing, but this was last July when they were doing some construction, so it’s probably better now. Hope this helps!

Fleming Island Pet Clinic is my favorite. I'm really picky because my dog is terrified of the vet. The vets and techs there really care and try to make it better for her, vs the old school "hold her down and get it done" kind of care.

Where do you live? I take my pets to Miramar Animal Hospital south of San Marco and really think they do a great job, genuinely care for my animals, and don't cost too much.

Dogs or cats? Our vet is cat only.

I've gone to Augustine Loretto on Old St Augustine and 295 for more than 20 years. They're expensive but I believe the best. They treat your animals like they're family.

Over in Arlington, I’ve always used Dr. Cook at the Arlington Animal Hospital.

Highly recommend Dr. Langford at Coral Reef animal hospital in Atlantic Beach. A tad more expensive than some other vets but worth every penny. He's saved two of my pets lives. I personally wouldn't go anywhere else.

I use Jacksonville Community Pet Clinic. There are a few of them I believe. The prices are super reasonable based on my past experiences with vet care. My boys are very comfortable going there too which isn't always the case, they have absolutely hated other vet offices.
If anyone knows of a Vet clinic that is looking for veterinarian assistants, please let me know! I don't want to stay at a restaurant if I can help it.

Ugh! Jessica Smits I dream of living there. Christopher-Jon Butler II yeah, especially working minimum wage... anndd Dave Futch, all I need is a highschool diploma. If I were applying as a vet tech (different job title, same job), id need a certificate.
