Ana M. replied:
Dr. Mary-Marie Sullivan is fantastic. I first met her when I worked at the hospital and observed how she treated her patients, and experienced how she treated other healthcare workers. I had a very high opinion of her and when I saw she was doing family practice in Saratoga Springs, I immediately switched to her. I have been very happy with her knowledge and bedside manners.https://intermountainhealthcare.org/find-a-doctor/s/sullivan-mary-marie-a/
Can anyone recommend a good primary care physician? I need someone who is compassionate and understanding when it comes to chronic pain. I need to switch and am willing...
Alison M. replied:
I second Dr Coy.
Genee G. replied:
I have chronic pain and really like Dr. Christensen, but he's no longer accepting new patients. I also go to a pain clinic though (I started going there before I started seeing Dr. Christensen as primary). I see Dr. Robin Ockey at UVPM in Orem and his PA Jeff Pierson. I have never had problems with their billing department, as someone mentioned above, but I have had issues with their office ladies not getting procedures pre-authorized in a timely fashion. The doctors and PAs, however, are very good about listening and trying everything they can to help you be pain free. They typically offer free samples of things to help you with costs. They have a psychologist and physical therapist on staff to help. The radiology clinic for procedures is right there in the same parking lot, so you don't have to go far for procedures. Some procedures, like EMG and Nerve induction testing, they do in their own office. Others like Cortisone shots or Rhizotomy must be done in the radiology office. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.
Teresa A. replied:
I've really liked Dr Coy (I know Mindy doesn't like him though...) I've felt like he listens, has compassion and gives me all my options and then lets me decide what route I want to take. He's the only primary care physician I've found in my 18 years in Utah that I've actually liked. I've heard really good things about Dr. Christensen too.
Andrea C. replied:
I go to Michael Curtis. For my family doctor. He helped me with chronic pain and really listens to my needs. But I will not recommend Utah valley pain management. Their billing people suck and didn't let me know that they used up all my insurance till I was over $3 k in debt and then they terminate my visits when the doctor was the only one to taper me off the meds.
Star Q. replied:
I really like Steven Berry in Orem. The other docs in the office, ok, the office staff, not so much. But him; I love! He delivered a high risk baby after I had a loss of one previously, very compassionate. He has also supported and helped my family through my 7 years of depression & mental illness struggles. Not to mention a great family doc all the way around with everyone else (husband & kids). Good luck.
Chandler L. replied:
Dr Christensen at the Saratoga instacare! He is an awesome doctor and has always fixed me and my family up!
David G. replied:
I got to Dr Ling in American Fork at utah central clinic have had chronic pain for a few years now
RaeAnna R. replied:
Dr. Steven Cherrington
Leif A. replied:
Dr. Robert Christensen at the Family Clinic/Instacare on SR-73 West of the Walmart. He has been great with my wife.
Clint P. replied:
Dr. James Clark in Provo. He is amazing. When things were tight with my family, he would load me up with samples so that I could avoid paying for a prescription. He's one of the nicest guys you'll meet.
Christina H. replied:
Love Dr Coy. I don't have chronic pain, but I do have a rare muscle disease. He is none of the first doctors who didn't make assumptions as to my condition, and who was willing to listen to me. He had never heard of my disease (no surprise there), but was willing to do some research and ask me questions.
Cori B. replied:
Rebecca Levine at the Jordan Valley family medicine in South Jordan!
Demosthenes W. replied:
I see Lisa Hall in Orem. She works with Steven Berry actually. I'm not a HUGE fan of Dr. Berry (I'd see him in a pinch, but I prefer my own PCP). She worked with me with my back issues until I could see a pain specialist, and has been there to support me with other conditions as well. She is compassionate and listened to what was going on with me before making decisions about my care. I recommend her to everyone! My husband sees the PA in that office and really likes him too. Their number is 801.802.7373 if you want to check them out.
