Thanks, Kimberley Briley Kimberly Briley Ford Our Sophie was transferred from our vet's office to Affilitated Veterinary Services in Maitland. They were wonderful and the internal medicine specialist seems quite knowledgeable about the diagnosis, etc. Is this where your Adog still receives her treatment and blood tests, etc?\
Kimberly F. replied:
No it's too far for monthly shots, but we go for routine care to PetsMart in Davenport. Only 8$ for monthly shots, since we pay 40$ a month for wellness care, which includes all yearly vaccinations and teeth cleaning. I buy her Meds at 1800 petmeds. Dr Coraudo at Banfield has been treating her since diagnosis.

Also, specifically in Orlando, Pinero Medical Group is a really good place to go. Doc Pinero is also a general practitioner (regular doctor) so you can get regular medical services there as well as hormones. http://www.pineromedical.com

locals...any endocrinologist & immunologist recommendations in town or Orlando area that deal with pediatrics?
Stephanie K. replied:
Dr Duncan.
Melissa B. replied:
We have seen Dr. Duncan and his associate, Dr. Hudson. I know that people love Duncan, but I felt like he was dismissive of my concerns and a little harsh with my hyper kid (and anyone who knows me should know that I'm already strict). Addison has a thyroid issue which the neurologist thought was an autoimmune disorder; he dismissed that idea just by looking at the labs. Six months later, lab work the same, Dr. Hudson is concerned about a *potential* autoimmune issue. Just as an FYI, they went to the same school and had some of the same teachers even, but Hudson is younger and seems better at listening and explaining. That being said, Duncan has more experience and has probably seen more.

Highly recommend Dr C at Nemours. He has days at new hospital so very convenient. He has a super long name -- I can get spelling if u want it. I am not a fan of Duncan either.
Pat S. replied:
We loved Dr. Duncan and have several friends who were very happy with him as well.
I need to find a Endocrinologist for Maddie. Any recommendations in the Orlando Area?
Christie E. replied:
Dr. Toboada at Nemours is also good - depends for what - some are better at diabetes others at hypothyroidism, etc. We've seen many over the years and think Tobaoda has great listening skills:)

Dr. Carakashansky at nemours. The best doctor ever. If you have to wait a bit for an appointment I promise it is worth it!!!
