I need a referral for an excellent sports medicine doc and/or physical therapist here in Orlando. It's time I do something about my shoulder. Feel free to let me know...

Philip, is there a way to check up on good/bad reviews besides Angieslist.com?
Lisa A. replied:
Dr. Winters is awesome, Brian. He did the surgery on my dad's knee when he tore his ACL.
Philip C. replied:
Honestly some of the doctor rating stuff online like healthgrades or vitals.com is not that that useful. You will find out if there's litigation or malpractice pending for docs and patients can give feedback and reviews. However, most patient feedback wont necessarily tell you anything about how good they are clinically. Most of it usually centers around non clinical stuff - how much they waited, the front office staff, how they were billed etc.

Try Justin Cobb, he works a lot with the athletes from ATT. He helped me a lot with my back as well.
I am scheduled for surgery for a torn meniscus and a very minor ACL repair. I am wondering if surgery is the only or best option for me and want a second opinion. Any...

Dr . Sean McFadden repaired my broken arm in 2008. Excellent doctor and fantastic bedside manner too at east orlando. I would go to him in heartbeat for my knees. I like Dr Robison too from Jewett. Use to take care of her patients in ACC but they go somewhere else now. They did great postoperative

Wish you were up here - our doc is at the #1 Ortho hospital in the country. If you decide you have an urge to come to NY, let me know and we'll hook you up:)

I went to Sean McFadden, MD. He's at Jewitt Ortho at FH East. I didn't need surgery. His specialty is knees. I really liked him. He does triathlons too.:) If you go to him, tell him I sent you....and I'm still training for IM FL

Dr Evans did my meniscus and recovery was quick and the knee feels great. I never had ACL repair that sound a little more serious. Good luck.
Paul P. replied:
I also wear compression sleeves from my ankles to above my calves. It cuts down on the vibration up my legs, which affects the knees too. They cost $39 at Track Shack.
Amy M. replied:
skip the podiatrist and go with an orthopedic doc if you go that route (general rule of thumb). Florida Orthopaedics Associates 1337 S International Pkwy Ste 1341 Lake Mary, FL 32746
Can anyone recommend a really good sports medicine massage therapist in Kissimmee/ St. Cloud area?
Kristi C. replied:
Not quite kissimmee, but Orlando Sports Chiropractic on Sand Lake Rd.
Heather C. replied:
East Lake Chiropractic in St Cloud! His kids are all very active in sports, and he and his wife are very fit and active. It's kind of his specialty, and they have massage therapists. In fact, I think his wife does massages there. He even treats kids with sports injuries for free, just FYI. We went to him for a gymnastics injury once.
