I need recommendations for a good veterinarian. I’ve taken my elderly dog to McMillan twice in the last few days and I’m just not satisfied with the way things have...

Firgrove vet on Meridan is awesome

Sumner Vet
Jan S. replied:
We had tried many places over the years as we moved around but kept coming back to Sumner Vet.(253-863-2258) We have been with them exclusively for over a decade. Our dog has specialty needs and also sees a neurologist at Summit Veterinary Referral Center in Tacoma. (253-983-1114).
Carrie S. replied:
I’d say Sumner Vet or Puyallup Valley. Both have been great. Avoid East Main Animal Hospital/Sunny Sky’s...my cat was literally dying in my arms and they refused to see her because they were in the middle of their shot clinic.
Kate T. replied:
Cascade Vet 540 S. River Ave, Buckley 360-829-1880 . These guys are the best, have been going to them over 20 years !!
Debra Y. replied:
Firgrove is amazing! The doctors listen to you and treat the animals as if it was their pet. I highly recommend Firgrove vet in south hill.
Marty M. replied:
Fairwood vet.2538481563
Katy H. replied:
Elizabeth, I have a 15 yr old rescued GSD mix and I use Firgrove vet. They are compassionate and caring but you have to request one of the more experienced doctors I've discovered. And ask as many questions as you can possily think of. I literally go in with questions and end up calling or emailing with additional ones. Good luck with your pup.
Courtney R. replied:
I highly recommend this place, a new Dr. Has taken it over named Dr. Sabari Haviland, she is an excellent veterinarian and will take great care of your pet. I am a veterinary technician and I have even taken my pets to her in an emergency because she was closer than my work and she was great!
Carlee S. replied:
Depending on what it is. If it is minor we go to Banfield inside petsmart in Puyallup. If it is major we go to Summit veterinary referral center. I know they have an emergency clinic there and have helped us multiple times.
Stefanie S. replied:
I have had great experience at Sumner veterinary hospital. They have been great and even saved our cats life once!

Depressing question but I need to ask... I need a referral for the best veterinarian in the area who provides in home euthanasia. I think time is approaching and have...
Sonja K. replied:
I would like to share how I took care of my situation when I needed to have my Cocker Spaniel euthanized a few months ago. She had gotten far a I'd of vet offices, too. I asked the vet for one tranquilizer. I gave her that one hour before our appointment. She was so relaxed when the time came. I stayed with her and watched her go so peacefully. Very sad but very necessary. I used Timber Ridge Hospital in Bonny Lake. He is very good.
Madison M. replied:
Dr. West Wilke she put my baby girl down last year, because she had oral cancer. She is so nice and caring she helped calm me down because I was balling my eyes out. I had my cat for 13 years. I would definitely go with her.
Andria R. replied:
Dr Best in eatonville will come to your home, I've heard nothing but amazing things about him. Dr Dugan in Roy will just not sure if he will for dogs. So sorry your having to go through this, we just did this (2 wks tomorrow) with our horse
Kassandra R. replied:
We just experienced a loss with these folks. Was the most peaceful passing, and they were compassionate and excellent. http://www.thegoodlifeforpets.com/home-euthanasia.html
Marlene T. replied:
Thank you for the recommendations. We are currently seeing a specialist at Summit Veterinary Referral and they don't provide this service. She's terrified of going to the vet so when the time comes I want her to be comfortable surrounded by love. I hope it won't come to this and that it will be natural, but I don't want her suffering. Thanks again
Rebecca T. replied:
Try Doorstepvet.com. I have used her services and she is amazing.

I've taken all my furry babies to McMillan Animal Hospital for years and I recommend them! We were patients of Dr Emerson back when he had an office on Canyon Rd too. He's no nonsense, doesn't overcharge and I've always had a good experience. If you are kind and friendly, you get the same in return.

McMillan vet hospital if you don't mind having an old school vet he is a little gruff but he does what needs to be done he is no nonsense doesn't over charge and will be straight forward with you our friends cat hadn't peed in days and when the cat was taken to another vet they said there wasn't anything they could do if the cat wouldn't pee soon the urine would turn toxic and the cat would need to be put down took the kitty to Dr Emerson the next day he placed a catheter drained the kitty's bladder (solving the immediate problem) then kept kitty a few days to treat the underlying problem (bladder stones) kitty is perfectly fine and healthy now

The neighbors I'm looking for a vet that can give antibiotic shots to a goat any suggestions out there?
Sandie G. replied:
Firgrove Vetrinary
Brandon H. replied:
Instead of antibiotics which kills even the helpful bacteria/gut flora, consider pro-biotics. Kefir grains or kefir itself, kombucha SCOBY's, or pro-biotic gels on the food can be fed to your goats. I have lactobacillus that I spray on my animal's feed and shelters to preventon smells and illness. It's the "king" bacteria that lives inside our gut and mouths as well as goats. A teaspoon mixed with a gallon of water can be used all over. I'm more than happy to share if interested. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactobacillus_acidophiluserhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactobacillus_acidophilus
Looking for a new vet for our puppy and suggestions? Have been to one in the area but not super impressed. Thanks for any suggestions.
Melanie W. replied:
We board our dog at the Sumner vet and he loves it there. He gets shots and checkups at the McMillan vet. The vet at McMillan is very smart and practical, we like that.

Dr. Levigne at Timber Ridge in Bonney Lake.
Shiela T. replied:
Cascade Vet has the best pricing I have found locally and they are always professional. McMillin is convenient and they can usually always get me in the same day. Sumner Vet is expensive but high quality and great for after hours and emergency care. I haven't used River Road but a breeder friend of mine has and she recommends them. I like their extended hours.
Mandi S. replied:
Sumner Vet Hospital is great. I would discourage a chain like Petsmart. We took our dogs there for years and recently had to put our sweet girl down because of ongoing problems we kept bringing her back for and all they did was recommend different foods and products to buy until it was too late when they finally recommended we go to Sumner Vet because they never did have the tools or technology to determine what was really wrong.
Marisa G. replied:
Sumner is great, but pretty spendy. We starated going to Cascade vet in Buckley, and they're great and have lower prices. ..and you see the same Dr practically everytime. At Sumner it seemed like in ten years with our last dog, that we only saw the same Dr like maybe 5 times. .
Renee H. replied:
I used to take my dog to Sumner Vet Hospital and they were good but quite expensive and recently when I had to take him in because he had gotten real sick I would call them and be told the vet would call me back but I never received a phone call this happened twice. With my dog being so sick and after spending $1,500 in two weeks I got mad and switched to Fir Grove veterinary and I really like them they are affordable and they will set up payments and offer to do so
Ben H. replied:
I like Sumner Vet
Tanja D. replied:
