Carousel Vet is mobile and does great with pigs!
Camille S. replied:
Sean Tuley is good too!
Nicole H. replied:
Rheann Dr. Farris came to our house to put down our dog. He's a very nice man. I just had to put down a pet not too long ago so I can sympathize with your mom. I'm still upset over it but having someone there for you makes it much easier. I had to do this one all by myself, definitely much harder.
Dalene Johnson, To have your pig fixed, I have a great vet out in seattle, Its a drive, but she is absolutely amazing and gives a very fair price based on age weight and gender. She works at an "emergency" vet, but will do appt for pig fixes, because she feels its very important that they get done for the health of the pig, and she doesnt charge a Ridiculous price like 300-700 like i have been quoted out here. Definitely worth the drive. her name is Cathy Zolicani, you can look for her on FB and send her a msg. I do not remember the name of the Clinic, but have the # 203-634-9000, she only works Mon, Tues, and Wed.
Any suggestions on a vet in the area that is reasonably priced for Xrays? I know it's a long shot. I've called a few and they won't give estimates, because the vet has...
Sara D. replied:
Well, The Loving Care Pet Clinic in Graham apparently doesn't want new customers. I've tried half a dozen times (they're closest to me) and they won't pick up the phone. All other vets are pretty equivalent in estimates. So, I've decided on McMillan in Orting. She was the nicest on the phone and most willing to discuss possible costs depending on problem found. Thanks again for all the suggestions. Puppy has an appointment at 2:00. Can't come soon enough. Poor baby won't eat or walk and is just whimpering. I feel so useless.
Suzy P. replied:
I second Coni Martin Bergan, fir grove great
Lisa H. replied:
Tahoma Vet on 224 th in Graham they do large and small pets...they are awesome! I also use Dr. Briskey in Orting for routine stuff.
Sara D. replied:
Okay, I decided to double check with Firgrove, and Wendy was very friendly and gave me price quotes. A bit pricey still, but willing to pay extra if everyone claims they give good care. Unfortunately, they having nothing open today, and my puppy is in obvious pain, so at this point I will stick with McMillan. I mean, how badly can a vet screw up a paw injury/xray? Don't answer that! haha I still can't get ahold of Loving Care Pet Clinic in Graham, and the recording said they close at noon on Mondays. So, McMillan it is, as they were reasonably priced and can get her in at 2.

I would suggest Fircrest Veterinary Hospital in University Place. But you probably don't want to drive that far. Dr. Eugenio and his staff are the best

Tony I am a former Veterinary Technician and have worked with lots of vets. Dr Bart Iaia at Renton West is one of the kindest most wonderful vet I've ever worked for. He also just has such a gentle demeanor and animals respond very well to him. If it's not too far I would highly recommend him.

Sunny Sky's Animal Hospital on E. Main Ave is non-profit. They will be open tomorrow.

The Tacoma-Pierce County Humane Society requires documentation of the family's last 3 months of income. If you have that with you and you qualify, the grant can sometimes be made to your vet the same day.

Is anyone able to go wrap up a poor deceased dog on the sidewalk and take it to the vet to have it scanned for a microchip?...
Amanda E. replied:
Her name was Bailey. The vet tried to call, but her owner didn't pick up. My dog has an appointment there tomorrow at 3:40 pm, and I'll follow up with them then. She is at Firgrove Veterinary Hospital at 14816 Meridian Avenue East in Puyallup. Their number is 253 848 1563
While at Firgrove Vet for my own dog's appointment today, I got an update on Bailey. Her owners are military, and were restationed a couple of weeks ago. A neighbor was keeping the animals until today, when they were set to be shipped to the family. They vet has cremated Bailey. I collected her collar and tags while there today, and I will send them to her family in the morning. I did talk to her owner, and she was so thankful that people came on here and posted about Bailey instead of leaving her on the side of the road.

Sharon T. replied:
Firgrove. I took my dogs to Value Pet for years. No appointment needed, walk in only. You will wait a long time and they will try to sell you all kinds of additional services or items. Made an appointment at Firgrove, based on reviews. Got in right away and was told that my dog does not need the additional blood work or flea treatments that I had invested in for several years. I have heard good things about Banfield as well, especially for routine work.
Margo C. replied:
Pasedos safe haven does spay, worming, shots, flea treatment. I had my puppy done including microchip and it cost me $55.00 plus they were great. Its mobile so yih drop them off in the morning and pick up same day. Otherwise I use VCA Animal clinic on Pacific Ave. Open 24 hrs so no late appointment fees. If you want more info pm me. Good luck
