[Suggestions requested] - Best Gyms/Community Centers in the area with an indoor lap pool? Hey KC,
Debating on getting back into swimming. Used to go to the Ward...

[This](https://kansascityymca.org/locations/north-kansas-city/photos) is at the YMCA in North Kansas City.

Check the Cleaver YMCA on Troost, however I think they only have two lanes as well.

Matt Ross, 4 lanes, 25 yds https://www.opkansas.org/things-to-see-and-do/community-centers/matt-ross-community-center/mrcc-pools/

Depending on where you are located and definition of early/late. The Olathe Community Center right off the Santa Fe exit of I-35 (Ridgeview & Kansas Ave). Has a pretty nice lap pool. They open at 5 and close at 9 throughout the week.

Roeland Park Aquatic Center has some pretty good indoor options during winter. Only issue is that the summer lap swim hours are awful now. But, in that case, there's the Prairie Village pool.

UMKC’s Pool is fantastic. Rates are good also

I work downtown and have a membership to the Westin. They have a small gym that includes a heated outdoor pool. I wouldn’t say it’s super ideal, but works okay for laps here and there. Since it’s a hotel you will sometimes have to deal with families swimming, but it hasn’t been a super huge issue.

It depends where you live. Sorry to be late to the party- I'm a member of the J (Jewish Community Center) and while I'm not a competitive swimmer, the facility is really nice. 25 yard indoor pool, therapy spa hottub thing, Olympic length outdoor pool. They offer masters and pre-masters classes/training. I'm a fan of the whole set up even if I'm just doing 400 yards indoor with my kickboard.
Looking for a gym to play pickup basketball at. Hi, I just moved to Omaha.
Are there any gyms in town that regularly have open courts with games going?
Or any other...
supermyduper replied:
I don't have an answer, but I'm interested in playing pickup as well.

Prairie Life at 132 nd and Center has a lot of pickup ball: M-W-F from 11 am-1 pm. T-Th evening from 7-9 pm. Sat AM from 10 a-noon. Also M-F morning games at 5:30 am (I believe) T-Th nights is a younger crowd (20-35 years) All other times have 20-60 year old players. I call it the Mecca of Old Man Basketball!

Don’t know, but there’s an app for that - pickup basketball. Maybe you could use it to organize your own game if you’re her are no listings locally

There's always pickup games at Genesis la Vista, I've played at 144 th St location too.

The Lifetime Fitness on Center and 168 th has 2 courts and it would seem nonstop pickup games. Court is always full of people every time I go lift.

Hey guys, I created a website to help people find local pickup games: https://pickupbasketball.wixsite.com/home When I moved to a new city, I struggled to find a place to play pickup basketball. Googling for places to play pickup basketball gives you bad information, and most of the best gyms to play aren't listed on a website - it's all word of mouth. I created this website to serve as a decentralized solution to this problem: Anyone can easily find places to play pickup basketball games, and anyone can add additional locations. Add some for Omaha if you can :)

Hey there,
The 24 hour(now genesis on 78th and cass) is always busy after 5pm on weekdays.
For streetball:
The most consistent game I’ve found is at Churchich Park (50 and i80) every weeknight weather permitting. The guys show up around 7pm. Usually 10-15 of us there. Can be diverse group but skews Hispanic. You’ll find me there most nights.
Otherwise check out Vogel Park (50 & Center). Very hit or miss but competition level can be high. There’s a group of black guys who will often be there on Saturday afternoons weather permitting.
Also check out the outdoor courts at UNO. Scott village on south campus. Like 64th and Pine street.
Another spot is the half court at Dewey Park. Though less games since they took out the trees.
If you’re really good/adventurous, you can venture up north to the cages (24 & Burdette), just watch your car/bring a buddy.
