Banfield Hospital inside PetSmart on Ramon for great insurance too. We paid $90 and then each month $40 and get unlimited visits plus teeth cleaning. In two visits we saved $967 better than our other vetwho almost charged us $1400 for the same work

One more vote for Palms Springs Animal Hospital. I found VCA to be very expensive.
Looking for a good Vet for our sick cat. He's vomits at least twice a day & doesn't eat much!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Dr Glass at Southwest Veterinary at Roman & Landau.

Haley W. replied:
Dr. Drenning at Banfield Pet Hospital inside Petsmart is amazing! She's been taking care of our English Bulldogs for over 2 years and we couldn't be happier. Great customer service and reasonable.
Kate C. replied:
Chad Gardner - we all want to assist, and would like clarification. Are you needing a recommendation for a good veterinarian, or? We also have a document with great recommendations. Just under the sunset picture is a spyglass. Click on that - enter the word vet to get posts...or under "files" where there is a list made of different vendors our members have listed. I hope all is okay for your little furbaby.
Vicki L. replied:
I love Palm Springs Animal Clinic in the Von's shopping center. All the vets that work there are wonderful and they are not doggy drug pushers!!!
Gene G. replied:
You might want to stay away from VCA on ramon rd. they have deep pocket and the results not good. They like to push product not care for you pet. Best place I think is Palm Springs Animal Clinic.
Christopher H. replied:
Amen Gene Graham.
Vinnie D. replied:
Not to contradict you Gene but I have pretty much always had very good experience's with VCA Animal Clinic on Ramon. I agree that they can be somewhat pricey however, I would follow Dr Pat Long anywhere. She has always treated our dogs with great care and has always given up options so that we could choose what to do and at what cost. I will admit, unless its an emergency I almost exclusively deal with Dr Long but they have always cared well for our dogs. I don't like their grooming services or the boarding there however.
We have world-class veterinarians in our City. Personally, I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Laure Ross at Palm Springs Animal Hospital. She holds a Harvard Master's Degree in cellular and developmental biology, Dr. Ross then attended UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine for her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. And, to boot, her manner with animals is not to be matched. http://www.palmspringsanimalhospital.com/Doctors.html
Jim G. replied:
And Peter Henein, Laure's colleague at PS Animal Hospital, has been great with Stan and Ollie---although my boys have, knock on wood, not presented any major challenges. You can't go wrong with either of them. And, BTW, Peter has been quite generous in taking in overflow from the PS Shelter, both for health reasons and healthy animals ready for their next home.
Katie M. replied:
Palm Springs Animal hospital all the way. Dr Brown is our vet! I adore that man.
Who do you recommend as a Vet and how is their office personnel? Thanks mucho!
Fran B. replied:
I foster rescued shar pei ... and have used Animal Hospital of Desert in Palm Desert for spay, shots, ear infections, etc. There is a price reduction for rescues. It is a family business and Dr Doel is the DVM ... Mrs Doel works at reception. One of the vet techs, Becky, is excellent. Address is 44350 Monterey Ave; phone no is 760-568-5151. Although my experiences have been positive, some of the reviews I just read are not so good. Hope this helps.
Deborah H. replied:
We go to Dr. Hicks in Palm Desert.
Lisa S. replied:

Holly J. replied:
Dr James Clark in Indio . Knows your name and how many pets you have just by looking at you. Very personal compassionate vet. 45 an office visit
Anyone know of any holistic allergists or veterinarians in either the desert, Riverside or Orange County? Thanks.
Kate C. replied:
We checked into this vet in La Quinta, as we use acupuncture for ourselves, and thought Duke would benefit. http://www.vcahospitals.com/all-creatures-ca/services/alternative-medicine/holistic-medicine
Mark R. replied:
Dr. Cutler at Palm Springs VCA is their resident acupuncturist, if that's the correct term.
Virginia H. replied:
Dr Fenton at All Creatures in La Quinta does acupuncture and did on my dog and it helped with hip problems. He was great to work with. Also Dr Cutler at VCA in PS is wonderful as a regular vet and never used her for other stuff but I have taken my dogs there for years.
What Vet do you recommend? I've been using VCA for years but I'm beginning to suspect that they are a profit center.
Wayne B. replied:
We use Dr. Gail Cutler at VCA. We think she's great.
Cheryl M. replied:
I like the individual Vets at VCA, in particular Dr. Derringer, but I think their prices are steep and perhaps they suggest more vaccines and procedures than are absolutely necessary. Profit driven.
Lisa S. replied:
Lmfao......April Gonzales
Ivette R. replied:
i love the VCA and Dr. Cutler is great but they are really expensive so i will try Dr. Carter next time im in need of vet services....thanks:-)
Patricia J. replied:
The Cat Clinic with Dr Diaz!! Warm, friendly, cats only and my cats have received excellent care without the "up selling" I have experienced at some veterinary facilities.
Kyrie F. replied:
Village pArk animal hospital.. I don't really have the words. They did everything they could to help my baby and when there was nothing left that could be done. They were very helpful. Vets Are pretty expensive.

Deborah H. replied:
Dr. Hicks, Palm Desert.
Nancy A. replied:
I've heard great things about Dr. Carter in CC. Not only about pricing better than the VCA gouge but also he does his own emergency work which is so rare in the desert.
Mike J. replied:
Carter Animal Hospital, they're the best.
Amy L. replied:
Judy Spira, I am at Dogs World on Sunrise and Vista Chino.
Susan N. replied:
Dr. Reedy if she is still at Carter is good also. Their website leaves a bit to be desired and I was surprised not to see her listed.
Nancy A. replied:
Jim Price goes to Carter and has for years. He's not in this group but you can reach out to him on FB at James Price.
Margaret S. replied:
They are! Go to the Carter ER pet hospital at Date Palm and Perez in Cathedral City.they are wonderful. We had been to VCA before and left $600. there for a Senior Cat evaluation. No x Rays though which would have shown a cancerous tumor that possibly could have b even treated at that time. Carter did blood work and 2 x rays right away and do.d not try to sell us any kind of package. Our kitty was put to sleep there too and they were so kind. Do not go to VCA. It's a huge organization and the animals don't seem to be their first concern. Carter for sure . We will get a new kitty and he or she will not go anywhere else!
Judy S. replied:
Any suggestions for a new groomer? I've used Brenda Cross for years due to her cancer she is closed I live in west Palm Springs.
Cheryl M. replied:
I like Miriam at Barking Lot next to Trader Joe's.
Recently rescued a 12 year old Pug who has horrible breathe. I need to find a Vet to clean her teeth under anesthesia. Recommendations and approximate cost?
W.A. M. replied:
I'm a big fan of Dr. Madsen at the Animal Clinic in DHS...
If anyone in the East Valley is looking for a vet, I highly recommend Dr. Oliver. He's a great doctor and great with the owners. He was the vet for all 4 of my Goldens.
Elaine B. replied:
Yes!!! Doctor Oliver is the bomb!! He is the one that helped Pepper get her walk back!
Thanks for adding me to the group, brothers and sisters! 4-year Playa vet here (until 2007) with dust still in my soul. Been living abroad for a while and vow to get...
