Rover.com - you can find someone who will stay in your home, make home visits throughout your trip, or take your pet into their home. I personally prefer the housesitting option so my mail gets checked, lights get turned on, etc - and I think the dogs prefer it too. :)

As far as pulling on the leash, I HIGHLY recommend the gentle leader. My sisters have used it on their border collie and Doberman and I use it on my Springer spaniel. Works wonders.
