Anyone seen a pediatric neurologist at Nemours in Jacksonville? If so, what was your experience? We are needing to go out of this area to find adequate epilepsy...
Susan B. replied:
Bridget, are you connected with https://www.facebook.com/133394740041670 Epilepsy Resource Center? Just want to be sure they are hearing your story.
ISO: A Neurologist that is personable and knowledgeable. I currently see Dr Dymentrenko and he is in too big of a hurry.
Daniel B. replied:
Dr. Bear at Baptist is great. My wife has epilepsy and he was the first we've come across that we really like.
Rhonda M. replied:
I have NO use for Demetryko....Dr David Bear at Emerald Coast Neurology is really good. They are located at Baptist Medical Park on 9 mile rd.
Aimee C. replied:
Love Dr. Bear also!
Crystopher S. replied:
Dr Bear, he's great. Called out a rarer form of epilepsy for me that some doctors didn't catch.
Christen B. replied:
Dr Bear was so nice and he took his time with me.
Christen B. replied:
I'm sorry. Seriously, go see Dr Bear. He was very detailed and spent time talking to me and explaining things. He went over medication options and talked about all of those. I was impressed.
Christie M. replied:
I see Dr. Porter in the same office as Dr. Bear and love him. He will sit down and really talk to you like a person. He is the first doctor in a LONG line to finally get my debilitating migraines under control. I went from having 4 a month to only having one (full blown) in the last year.
Rhonda M. replied:
Tiffany Wallace Overby...I agree with you totally....he was a complete Jackass to me. I left crying after my appointment as well. Dr Bear spent almost an hour with me and talked in detail. Dr Bear is a younger Dr (40 ish) and wants to help folks. Hope you find what you need.:)
Rhonda M. replied:
Dr Bear is just a Neurologist....I see Charles Chappleau at Baptist for neurosugery. He has operated on me twice and I've been very happy. He's had the same staff for long time and they are all very nice and helpful.
Daniel B. replied:
Unfortunately I don't. My wife may but she is asleep. Angela Benavides
Hello, All! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good neurologist in the Pensacola area, preferably familiar with, doesn't have to specialize in, ASD. Any and all...
Rebecca A. replied:
Dr Surhbeir at CNC is awesome too.
Kim D. replied:
Sara Winchester st CNC us wonderful!

Beth C. replied:
Dr Sara Winchester is at the Child Neurology Center...it's technically gulf breeze but it's very close to bridge...she's the most thorough dr we have ever been to! LOVE her!!
Brittany M. replied:
Aptitude Habilitation Services. Feel free to inbox me:)
Tiffany V. replied:
Susan is correct, CNC is the only place that sees children. Dr. Winchester is great!
Heavenly S. replied:
Sara Winchester is my top choice for the Child Neurology Center.
Tiffany V. replied:
She does prescribe. My son isn't dx'd ADHD because he can't sit through the testing for it, but it's obvious plus I have it myself. Dr. Winchester just prescribed tenex last week. She has also helped us control his other meds until we get in with another psychiatrist which will hopefully be soon.
Hey All! Looking for your sage advice once again! I am completely dissatisfied with the quality of care my daughter is receiving at CNC. While her Neurologist seems...
Teresa H. replied:
Dr Sharp in Dothan is very good..
Abbey R. replied:
Carol- LOL!!! Thanks for the smile! Nicole- that is who our Primary originally referred us to--but her initial appointment wait was SO long I opted to go with the first appointment I could get. Big mistake. Huge! Melodee Allmon, I feel your pain Mama! That's completely unacceptable and borders unethical medical practice. Thanks Teresa Hightower, I'll definitely look into Dr. Sharp!
Melodee A. replied:
Abbey Rodamaker our pediatrician has called twice to bump up my daughters initial appointment along with another patient who has CP, not a peep. I called to cancel the one had to leave a message cause no one was answering. Not cool at all.
Abbey R. replied:
Awesome Teresa Hightower! Thank you!
Tiffany V. replied:
We also like Dr. Winchester. I've never spoken with on the phone or had a visit with an ARNP there that I know of, only the Dr. It is hard to get in touch with them though. Rebecca Wilcox Aman, keep us posted on the psych! We're in somewhere here, but they're just maintaining old doses and refuse to adjust. But hey, at least they didn't kick us out because Henry jumps! Hahaha
Abbey R. replied:
Rachel Theresa, that's the impression I've gotten about Dr. Winchester as well. Our primary referred us to her- and spoke very highly of her. And I love and trust our primary's opinion! ;-) I can't even imagine how I could go about switching though! Lord, I can't even get an appointment with our existing Neurologist! The barrier that the front office and nursing staff create is dang near impenetrable! And someone has given the receptionist authority to deem who gets appointments and what those appointments are for. It's truly unbelievable!
It is suspected that my 2 year old has autism. Please suggest a pediatric neurologist. TIA
Angela O. replied:
There is only one office it's in gulf breeze, Child Neurology Center.
Susan B. replied:
I believe CNC diagnoses, but they don't follow patients with autism unless they have epilepsy or sleep disorders. Still good to start with your pediatrician. They may also refer you to a neuropsychologist. For a 2 year old, you can start with Early Steps- they don't diagnose but will get therapies started based on your child's needs. Early Steps is located at Sacred Heart.
Sabrina H. replied:
There is a place in Pensacola that does ADOS testing. Both of my kids were diagnosed Autistic by Child Neurology Center of Gulf Breeze about 2 years ago.. now the pediatrician is sending us to another place for full evaluations.
Lisa D. replied:
My son had his ADOS testing at the Autism Center in Sacred Heart.
I am here to thank all of you beautiful, caring people. A couple of weeks ago I asked for suggestions for a new neurologist because mine was in too big of a hurry. ...
