Dr. Duke's appt waiting times are horrendous. The worst was when I was 38 weeks and waited an hour and a half to see her, not including the 15 minutes I showed up early. It's always a long wait, she speed talks thru everything and has zero knowledge of Dr/patient confidentiality.

I've never experienced any of that with Dr Duke and I've been going to her for years

I have Dr. Duke and I love her, she's great. Only time I had to wait a long time was when she was in an emergency delivery. She's a wonderful doctor

To Rose, about Dr.Duke, the waiting is unexceptionable for anyone when it's every time . Years ago I had that problem too. I finally said my time is important too.. I can wait 30 minutes after that I'll reschedule . I told the nurses, Receptionist A nd was nice about it. After that whenever I went to the Dr., they were practically waiting at the door, holding it open for me. If I remember correctly, I think I mentioned to the Dr. Too. Thanks Carolyn Hansen for your words of wisdom. I attempted to reschedule with their office a couple of times; but the open schedule was usually only one opening available at the most inconvenient time for me. It was extremely stressful for a pregnan t woman. When I would ask why it was so late her staff would say she's in labor and delivery and when I would ask Dr Duke she'd say oh I was running late from lunch or something completely different than what her nurse would say. It was just extremely frustrating.

Rose Dr Dukes name comes up often on these answers. She sure is popular and I'm so sorry some people wait for hours and others are swished on through . I have a sweetheart of a sister in law who ( again, years ago ) would wait all day sometimes sti ll her Dr.. Didn't show up. That was the way it went for years. My sister in law was too sweet to speak up. I suppose if a person loves their Dr. That much, the Dr should know how long they wait and how often that happens. I've had to work by apointments and in a hairstyling salon there's a limit and people can get pretty angry !

I see Duke but can't get an appt til Oct. Smart health as well. I try to use the medical group BC the out of pocket is cheaper. Stalnaker and like is in that office too.

Sontag and Stalnaker are great too...but males. I have no complaints about Dr Duke. She was great with BOTH my pregnancies!

Dr. Medlock is awesome! I recently switched to him. I never thought I would see a male gynecologist but he is great. I also see all of the OB/GYNs in the OR when I attend deliveries--I can certainly tell you who NOT to see too. It takes a lot to impress a nurse and Dr. Medlock certainly does that!

Margeaux, I ended up with Michelle Spinner ARNP and got in immediately. She's a nurse practitioner at Ladies First (Schneider's office) and I really like her. Very warm and caring and so easy to talk with, but I still have to go through the same yucky office staff.

Depends on the services you require. Sacred Heart has the Nemours Children's Hospital so specialists are on sight. Dr. Lile is great!

Sacred Heart with Dr. Lile. He is amazing. Had an emergency C-Section and it was handled beautifully. I didn't feel stress at all. Going to be giving having another little one this August and I'm super happy it will be with him again.

I used Dr. Tucker and West FL hospital. They were all great. I wanted a natural birth and to be able to breastfeed right away. I had to have an IV but other than that they let me move around during my labor and do what I wanted and my nurses were very supportive and sweet.

Dr Altenhofen... and sacred heart. Sacred heart is the ONLY hospital that is equipped to handle "special" circumstances.... the other hospitals in the area will transfer your child to sacred if there is a need for specialized care.

I think it's always important that you feel comfortable with a doctor, so depending on your priorities, you may have different preferences, however, these are a few who I know and trust: Dentist: Dr Nolton on 9th Ave near Cordova Mall Primary: BaptistMedicalGroup.org is a great resource. Specifically, I know Dr. Driscoll and Jeffries (both females) and also Dr Lundquist near Target at Cordova (also female, has extended hours). All highly qualified, personable women. OBGYN: you will not find one better than Dr Erika Schneider (BMG Ladies First OBGYN) near cactus flower on 12th Ave. Her partners are also amazing: Drs Doyle, Kozakwitz & Sanders. Chiro: I am admittedly biased, but my husband Bryan Boerjan is a wonderful chiropractor at Gulf Coast Pain Institute right up 12th near Cordova. He is integrated within a pain management practice (medical doctors) and was voted Best of the Bay Chiro in 2015 (so other people agree he is great! Ha) 850-476-7072 If you have any other questions, I'm happy to help. It's tough finding referrals for various things when moving from out of the area. We moved here in 2010! Best of luck to you!

As far as primary care doctors go, and of course depending on insurance, Dr. Miguel Guttierez at Sacred Heart is the most thorough physician I've ever had. The eye doctors at Sight and Sun on Davis Hwy are great as is Dr. Boyd at Opti-Club on Davis. As far as OBGYNs go, Dr Sontag is WONDERFUL. He is with Sacred Heart as well. If you just need a plain GYN, Dr. Stalnaker is the BEST. You can probably get in with him faster and then transfer to Drs Sontag or Duke or Lile (all in the same practice) if you were to get pregnant.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Sontag at Sacred Heart for obgyn. He is absolutely amazing! Dr. Moulds and Stern is a good Chiropractor. The eye doctor at Lens Crafters in the mall is great...very thorough!

I have worked for Dr. Lisa Tucker before and she is absolutely awesome! She left the Women's Group. Not crazy of several of the Dr.'s with the Women's group, they think they walk on water! If you are looking in the Milton Area, Dr. Sue George!! She's been my GYN for 16 yrs and she is Wonderful!!!

She delivered my last baby. My only thing is I didn't really care for the nurses at WF. I'm an RN myself and the care I received there was not good.

If you don't see Dr. Matt Reynolds, absolutely do not see Dr. Jill Prafke at the Women's Group.

Love Dr Altenhofen, he's delivered both boys & is my current ob for my baby girl. He will take the time to answer any questions you have and tries to make a point to try to be at every birth. He was on vacation with my last c-section and he was all the way to Panama City when the nurses called him, he actually turned around to deliver my 2 year old!

Dr. John Grammer at the Womens Group is the only OB/GYN I have been to and absolutely love him. I have been seeing him for 22 years and he has delivered all 4 of my babies.

I'd recommend Dr. Dean Altenhofen, Erica. I've been seeing him since I moved here about 17 yrs ago. He removed a large ovarian cyst in my late 20's. And, both of my boys (w/complications) via c-sections. Have always loved his ofc staff, as well.

Erika, im concerned with what u said, he put it in.without asking? He is my gyn now. unsure emoticon i had a pap and he made me feel super comfortable & joked a lot. he has a great personality.

Jenny Allen is amazing. She is a midwife.. i have over 15 friends that have used her for years with all their kids & love her. Btw, Dr Ripps@New Leaders in Fertility treated my PCOS. He treats endometriosis as well. He is the best RE in the state. i tried for 6 yrs to ovulate on my own, i ovulated first try with meds. I had to induce ovulation & we did IUI to be sure it took. And i got preg with twins. Check him out.

Most Doctors won't take you past 7 months unless you have a major problem. Dr. Altenhoffen is one of the best OBGYN's in Pensacola, talk to him in a nice professional tone. Maybe he was up all night with a tough delivery and a rambunctious 2 year old was a little bit more than he could handle. Things happen and you should think about what might have happened beforehand before you get upset over something that is so minor in the scheme of life.
