Can anyone recommend a good HSA (Health Savings Account) or health plan for people who rarely see the doctor and want a low premium for a small business?
Carol C. replied:
Contact an insurance broker for your area/state and let them get quotes for you. (You can find a referral on daveramsey.com.)
John T. replied:
We have been using this program. Pretty sure HSA's are being phased out. http://samaritanministries.org
Ok...I think it's time for me to actually get a doctor in Peoria! Does anyone have a recommendation? Someone familiar with Celiac Disease would be a plus....

To the best of my knowledge, GI physicians have to be board certified in internal medicine. I go to an Internist as my primary care physician.

I would suggest Dr. Anthony Cutinello out of St. Claire Washington. He is a Dr. of Osteopathy, and has been our family doctor for 7 years. He always is willing to look "outside" of the box", and doesn't just go "by the book" on dealing with diseases. ...See More
Midwest Othopaedic on Allen Road in Peoria. They have a great dr named Dr. Mulronrey. He was great with me for my back. I don't know if you will need a referrral for him or not. Here is the phone number if you want to call them. 309-691-1400. It is the first road past where Michael's and Dave's bridal is on War Memorial.I hope you can get some help with that. I know what you are going thru.

Dr. Pallavi Murari at Methodist Family Medical Center (900 Main St also) is the BEST. I started seeing her to get help with my anxiety, but later on when I needed to have a small procedure done (and be in the office every other day for a bandage change) it made me realize how awesome it is having a great family physician. If I can still recommend them after seeing them 15 times in one month, I'd say that's a pretty good office in my book!

I see Dr. Preston at [Associates in Mental Health](http://www.aimh.com). They're located in the Methodist Wellness Center. I've also seen a therapist there in the past as well.
Wonderwithshel replied:
Hi there. You do need a doctor or psychiatrist. I don’t have anyone I love enough to recommend. But I have also seen a therapist in the Associates in Mental Health group, and was pretty happy with them. I will tell you that I am an adhd coach and I have an office in Peoria. I am honestly not trying to sell you anything. ... but if you’d ever like to touch base or anything, feel free to reach out. Welcome to Peoria and hope everything else is going smoothly!

I see Dr. Singh at Associates in Mental Health in the main UnityPoint building on 900 Main Street. I can not recommend him enough! He’s super cool, laid back, and very real/transparent. He’s very “no bullshit” and just an awesome psychiatrist. He’s also really great when it comes to referrals. So if you need a therapist or GP, he can point you in the right direction. Good luck!

Too bad you said St. Francis b/c I liked the doctor my son saw...Dr. Khaled...but I think he's Methodist. Cameron had stomach issues for years & we couldn't figure out what was going on. It was very frustrating that our doctor's office couldn't help us. Finally, they referred us to him. He was able to figure out the problem & now my son is doing really well.
Jennifer H. replied:
I use Dr. Volmar with OSF, I do not know if he does peds but he is excellent and his office would be just as good. Group name is OSF Gastroenterology.

Unfortunately, our family has had bad experience with the Peoria Ped. GI 's over the last 11 1/2 years. I can tell you who I wouldn't see! We traveled outside of Peoria for a GI specialist for a time. For now, we're seeing Dr. Ian Kang with OSF. Our needs can be rather complicating, but so far, he's doing well with keeping up. I'd say, give him a try.
Steve U. replied:
It depends on what is wrong w her. As Peds gi go I think Ian Kang is the best in ur area. But if it is serious u Shud look at St Louis Children's or come here to Chgo.
Jill T. replied:
Thanks, Steve Urban! We just made a 2 nd opinion appt with Dr Kang. It's not super serious, but chronic...we'd just like answers so our girl can feel better.

Kathy Gensel is an NP and I used to work with her. SHE IS AWESOME!!!!
Betsy W. replied:
Dr. Khaled at Methodist is AMAZING!!! He is excellent with his patients, and very good at being truthful. I know he is out of network, but I trust him and respect him very much!
Kathy G. replied:
Why thank you, Monica! We have 3 doctors at pediatric Gastroenterology at OSF. Dr. Kang (our chief), Dr. Mullett, and Dr. Yaseen (he comes from Moline 2 days a week). I am the nurse practitioner(11 1/2 years). Dr. Khaled used to be in our group-I worked with him for 5 years. Dr. Mullett used to work at Methodist with Dr. Khaled, but came over to work with us. Much of parent opinion, I have found is personality-driven. We can deal with almost all GI issues, except transplants and complicated liver problems.
