Hi. We're moving into the area next week. Does anyone have recommendations for activities for a 2 and/or 3.5yo? Maybe soccer lessons or yoga? Thanks so much!
Phillip C. replied:
The fall session of Soccer Shots starts next weekend. They have programs all over the city, including in Liberty Lands park on Sunday afternoons. There is also tumbling at Fusion Tumbling & Fitness in Fishtown. They're fall session starts next week too, although you can also do monthly and drop in plans. Our 2-year-old daughter does both of these. There is also a music class at the Northern Liberties Community Center. We haven't been to it though. You should also look into the programming of the By My Side group in Fishtown. They have playgroups almost every day of the week, as well as two different music classes, including the Lara & Joe Show, which is great. And coming soon is the Palmer Pond art center in Fishtown, which is going to have art, dance, and music classes. I think they're planning to open in about a month.

There is an adult yoga class at Carmellas Dance Studio in Springfield. Not sure if it specifically targets runners. I also know a few people who do hot yoga at Dana's in Bala Cynwyd - runners LOVE her!!!
Anne M. replied:
Prana house yoga is doing a 4 week series on Sunday mornings. they are in haverford. A good number of people from our run group out here (running in the suburbs on Meetup.com) are doing it. http://www.pranahouseyoga.com/workshops/

If you can't find the perfect class/teacher/studio that is convenient, I highly recommend yogaglo.com. There is a free trial, the choice of classes is truly astounding, and the teachers are top-notch. You can choose the length of class you prefer at each session, as well as the type. I think there are even classes for runners.
