House Rentals that allow Pit Bulls? Does anyone know of any landlords that will rent a house to tenants that have a pitbull mix? Our dog is half pit, half lab, 6 years...
oohcarrots replied:
You are almost certainly going to have to find a private owner willing to rent.
DucksLikeRain1 replied:
Northwest rental management will. Yard size is hit or miss, though, as they are all different sizes. They own all the houses they "manage". They are pretty basic and all pretty much in the same neighborhood. They don't discriminate breeds, but you will pay rent for each pet.
StitchTheTurnip replied:
Tell them shes a Lab mix. Show them pictures of her playing with children if they ask. Wait to see if they notice and contest it. Say you knew the breeder and the Lab had a good temperment? It really doesn't matter. They're lying about pitbulls so lie about your dog. All of the rental companies in Eugene are garbage. They are allowed to set any arbitrary rules they want because they know they will find a renter. If you have a place currently and time to search, I would recommend scouring craigslist and some of the other small management companies (dif than a rental company that owns all the properties). If you can wait a bit it's really the best option.

I believe stewardship? They allow pets on all properties with some specifications in certain complexes/houses.
Although the one pit mix I know that lives in one of they're rentals is a registered service animal. So I'd give them a call and ask.
AG campus does not restrict breeds as I called a few weeks ago because I was interested in a pet friendly location that would not restrict a breed I was looking into. Some of the locations they offer are not pet friendly so double check when applying/looking at they're current offers.
By the way. I forget what exact property manager one of which I talked to but the owner of the company wrote in they're webpage that said : if it looks like a pit bull it is a pit bull. So I'd avoid that one. :) if I remember correctly it was a predominantly south hills based rental company.
But! I Wish you luck. I work with pit mixes and a majority are sweet as hell.

Good luck! This town is incredibly ignorant and hostile towards pits.

Just wanted to suggest NOT mentioning "Pit Mix" to any prospective landlord. What you have is a mutt. Refer to it as a dog, when asked the breed say mutt. It's not like they are going to do genetic testing on it.

http://cresapts.com/westtown/ Is donwtown next to the WOW hall and allows dogs. Actually the manager at the front desk lives here and she own a pit pull. Another thing you can try, is if you have any medical problems is see your doctor and have them list your dog as an emotional support animal. (this is not a service animal) But legally were you choose to live the landlord will have to let you keep your dog.
