Received English is like BBC English. So everyone understands it. Native American English involves references to totem poles and wigwams so you may want to avoid that.

It wasn't rhetorical. It was a valid question. If you want your kids to speak English as it's meant to be spoken then you have a choice between American English or Received English. Just pointing out that a Native English speaker with a heavy accent may not be ideal if you want said kids to be understood.
