Had a strange encounter with AAA Autos on Saturday, we were collected by them from home (Close to Louny) but they refused to take us back contrary to their promise...
Nicolai T. replied:
write a flame to a few AAA addresses http://www.aaaauto.cz/ombudsman
David G. replied:
They are absolutely awful. I had a couple of bad experiences with them 2 years ago. They ALWAYS keep you for between 4-6 hours. Usually in a hot waiting room. They talk rubbish and half of them don't know what they are on about. I test drove an octavia there. The noise from the wheel bearings was so loud it sounded like they were about to fall off. The guy told me 'yeah it hasn't been driven for 2 weeks':D I almost sold a car once too. They don't check it...at ALL! They take pictures and send it to head office who instantly give you a price about 20,000kc less than you were told on the phone. Just from pictures. a guy comes out, drives it in a circle, tests the air con, kicks the tyres and that's it. Anything could be wrong with those cars. AVOID! I sold and bought a car at Auto Esa. They were good and fair despite being a similar company. I even managed to get an extra 3000kc when selling by pursuading them they wouldn't see many Alfa Romeo's with a full service history:-)
Beth R. replied:
We bought our 2003 Skoda Octavia in 2012 at Auto Esa in Cerny Most. We were pleased with the service and so far with the car. http://www.autoesa.cz//kontakty-auto-esa.htm
Jakub K. replied:
AAA have the worst reputation in a business that is pretty dodgy to start with. I would never dream of buying a car there and I would certainly not put myself in such a position as to rely on them in any way - for transport home for example. And on a related note, a friend had a very good experience with these guys, who profesionally check a car you intend to purchase - https://www.facebook.com/AutoAZconsulting?fref=ts
Honza R. replied:
Welcome to the huge and neverending list of customers with bad experience with AAA Auto:) trust me, you are not first, nor last
Honza R. replied:
Stated this once already at a similar post: If you are going to buy a car and want to be at least somewhat sure what you are buying, never ever go to AAA Auto or auto ESA. I'm not saying all of their cars are piece of junk or that all the salesmen there are c*nts, but you have to be pretty damn lucky to not bump into either of that in those used car dealerships. If, for any reason, you are going to buy a used car, try looking at the official brand dealerships. They usually sell their own used cars, with known history and sometimes they even slap an extra warranty on them (my case - bought used Ford Focus, 7 years old, recieved full service history and additional one year warranty for any mechanical parts that would break down within that period - bought at Autopalace Spořilov)

Looking for a taxi service to transport a large dog and his large crate, plus 3 adults and luggage to the airport. Any suggestions?

Someone from this page has recommended City Taxi 257 257 257 and asking for a VAN, for moving items like furniture. Perhaps that would work for your family and furry family member. :) Good luck with the move!

Uber in Prague, doesn't look like it will survive. I've used it in the States before, but here they seem to be rolling out the premium version with PRO drivers (Uber Black) and a 40 kc base + 23 kc km tariff. I wonder how that will compete with the likes of Kuryr and TICK TACK, which are cheaper. I think Czech laws prevent the non PRO version from running here as drivers don't have commercial insurance.
Chris G. replied:
More info / radio item in English > "Several cities around the world have in fact banned Uber altogether. Most recently, Berlin moved against the app on Thursday, banning it over passenger safety concerns. But in Prague, City Hall officials have welcomed Uber’s arrival. “We support any idea that will increase competitiveness in taxi services. We believe it will have a positive effect on the market. Such apps are one way of combating dishonest taxi drivers,” City councillor Lukáš Manhart told Lidové noviny. " > http://radio.cz/en/section/business/will-ubers-arrival-shake-up-pragues-taxi-market
