I think it depends on what your issue is. I have used doctors in the county (Spatz) and had very good results but when I needed my knee replaced I went to Orthopedic and Sports Medicine because I wanted someone that performed the surgery alot. Just not going to have the volume for replacement in Calvert - and again this is just my opinion.

Definitely Orthopedic and Sports Medicine (OSMC) Annapolis and Bowie. I have personally had 2 knee replacements (10 and 12 years ago) as well as foot and back surgeries there. Other family members have had knee back and shoulder surgeries there. They have doctors for virtually every part of the body. Friendly competent very accommodating. 410-268-8862.

Dr. Herron is great! Everyone in his practice is excellent. You might wait at his office but that's just how busy he is and how much time he takes with his patients. He's a great pain manager as well!!

For shoulders I recommend Dr. Peter Johnston at Southern Maryland Sports Medicine/Ortho-he works in both Leonardtown and Waldorf.

Husband just had knee surgery with Dr . Herron and the Prince Frederick surgery center...fast, competent and did great job.

If it is a foot/ankle issue, Dr. Mark S. Myerson is Medical Director at the Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy in Baltimore. He is one of the best in the country. Look him up. He operated on and fixed a rare genetic condition on both of my daughter's feet.

I am a nurse and my husband had surgery with Dr Patel in Prince Frederick; I had surgery with Dr Spatz in Prince Frederick. If the nurses have surgery with these doctors you know they must be good cause we dont use docs that aren't! Dont go out of county and waste your time and money traveling!
