Does anyone know of a vet near Nashua, NH that isn't a million dollars and/or gives a rescue discount? Thanks!
Patty M. replied:
Becca there is a veterinarian in Pepperell, MA which is very close to Nashua. I'm sick and have to go to Doctor otherwise I could check it out. This place gives a 15% discount for first time patients and they offer discounts for area Rescues. Very good reputation. Go to www.pvmcvet.com for information and their phone number is 978-433-6050.

Dr Ader in West Warwick knows birds really well. Others will see birds but don't really know their physiology. Number- 401-738-6695.Call right away for an appointment.
Julie S. replied:
sadly, Dr Ader is apparently on vacation til the 25 th. Anybody have any other vet recommendations?
Beth W. replied:
Dr Bird and staff are wonderful-for all animals-rabbits, hedgehogs, chicks, dogs, cat etc
C S. replied:
I love Dr. Ader. She has been my vet for 20+ years. Maybe call a wildlife rehabilitator? Isn't there a farm animal sanctuary in NY state? Or a free range chicken farm to see if they have any ideas about the symptoms...
Camille M. replied:
There's a doctor bird or byrd people refer to in, i think, S kingston. For emergencies like accidents, Quaker Lane vet next to Allie's will treat your pet but they probably don't know bird sicknesses too much. Try to see if you can find Dr Bird in the computer.
Julie S. replied:
thanks Camille, Dr Bird's the next person I was going to call. A friend takes her hens there, I couldn't contact my friend, but just remembered Dr. Bird's name, since it's so apt.
Julie S. replied:
I couldn't get an appt with Dr. Bird til monday, but have one tomorrow morning with Dr Caroline Bowater at the South Bay clinic in Narragansett, one of the names I was given by Dr Bird's office, who does treat birds. She now has electrolytes, cider vinegar, and garlic(per the vet) in her water. Plus Rescue Remedy, which I'm taking myself. I've tried all kinds of favored foods, including egg, April, the distressing thing is that she can't seem to connect with it at all, as if she has some weird spatial disconnect.
Vanessa M. replied:
Julie, Keep her cozy and good luck. Hopefully, some warm love and extra care will get her going. A heating pad or a heat lamp may help her relax and let her body heal.

CARE has an application to complete but it isn't that tough and we don't do a home visit for kittens and cats. We do check the vet reference. Our adoption fee is $125 and 2 for $225. It barely covers the cost of the spay/neuter and vaccinations. Email cricket13@comcast.net
Hello... looking for recommendations for Massachusetts vet for knee surgery on a 2 year old pitbull type dog affordable and great..
Sara I. replied:
Laura ask Westside Animal Clinic maybe? I know them as my personal vet, for the monsters.. I have had a few co workers had cat/dog procedures and they were kind with working out payment plan at the very least.
Christine S. replied:
Sadie goes to Dr. Dunn in Lynn (North Shore Animal Hospital). Her ACL surgery only cost I think $2100 total and the follow ups were free. He has been so amazing with her and they never gouge me on price, at all.
Looking for some much needed advise!! I have a two year old Pomeranian that I have had since he was just a puppy. We have been dealing with extreme anxiety issues,...
Jessica K. replied:
Sarah Flynn Research the "Nothing in life is free" training method. I work pretty regularly with anxious aggressive dogs and often find that giving them structure and boundaries will help them calm. They need a routine and also you need to regain your place as the leader. Right now he believes those things are his, and hes boss. If you would like to PM me i can give more info/ websites etc. But i have rehabbed many of these types of issues and its usually medication with LOTS of training. You have to work with the dog everyday

We bring our animals there and we love them. They handle Maxine's fear really well too. We see Dr. Boyd for everything. They are leaps and bounds better than our old vet. I cannot say enough good things about them.

A friend recommended Dr. Strakes too so sounds like a few good options there:-)
