Need recommendations for best veterinarians and pet supply stores Hello r/Reno!

I've been taking my pets to Klaich Animal Hospital for over 30 years. They aren't the cheapest in town and are pretty busy, but I have always felt like my pets were treated best there. Can't really help with the reptile supplies though. Welcome!

My husband worked at the Humane Society vet clinic for a few years and recommends A+ Animal Hospital and the ABC Clinic, as they provide great service and are affordable. If you wind up needing emergency vet care between 6pm - 6am, Animal Emergency Center can help, and I believe its a base cost of 300, but have been lucky enough to not need that service so far. However, there are a lot of questionable vets in this area that will heavily overcharge, so I also recommend stopping by the Nevada Humane Society vet clinic and any receptionist will have a list of over 70 vets in the area for resources. As for 'exotic' pets, there are several places around, but I would not recommend Sierra Aquatics. They have equipment, but they care for their animals terribly, so I can't support them. Hopefully this helps! Welcome to Reno!

Welcome to Reno! I have heard VCA Feline Medical Center is excellent (cat specific vet). I have an in-home vet come to the house to see my cats because they hate to travel. If you are interested at in-home service I can recommend Homeward Bound Veterinary Services. Can’t help with the lizards, sorry.

My wife and I, along with her family, have been going to NW Veterinary Hospital for 8+ years and have always gotten great care for our pets. http://nwvet.net/

Can’t speak for a herp vet, but I recommend Mount Rose Animal Hospital. We’re new in town too and it was recommended to us by our awesome dog boarding place. It’s on the south end of town, but we were told that they were worth the trip and I agree!
