Anyone in Roanoke have a GP that they would recommend? I think it's time to find a new doctor.
Sarah B. replied:
Dr. William Ball, Roanoke Family Medicine, 772-1006, corner of Ogden Rd. and Colonial, SUPER guy, never rushes, full attention, VERY good at what he does. I've been going to him for over 20 years (and he's cute LOL).
Mary S. replied:
Donald Steinweg@Carilion. 224-5170 He is absolutely the best in the Valley and several docs are his patients. I wouldn't take my dog to HCA
Kara C. replied:
David Cummings. Beside chuck. E. Cheese. He's a trip. I like him.
Karen A. replied:
I see Dr. Steinweg too and I agree he's GREAT!
Kimie R. replied:
I always thought Dr Cummings was a good doctor ... he is a good integrative medicine doctor. Don't think he is a big med /vaccine pusher.
Phil C. replied:
I'm actually looking for a new GP also. Sarah -what hospital is Dr Ball affiliated with?

We have Dr. Gard right now and hes great, but hes one of the busiest doctors there and it would be nice to a lady doctor. Dr Gard has been her doctor since she was a preemie and hes one of the few preemie pediatricians in Roanoke, but I think I may hav e to leave physicians to children. I think its just too crowded and overwhelming for Caitlin over there. Mary Jane Witter used to be there and she was the only doctor that she felt comfortable with, but now shes a teacher in a preschool and left ptc. We loved her. So I wonder if a female doctor in a lot less crowded office would be better.
Kayla W. replied:
Just to let you know. We have seen Dr Johnson at PTC too. If I had a little girl that's who she would see. I understand your reasons for leaving though.
I've decided to take the leap and get contacts for the first time. I don't have a regular eye doctor, so I am looking for recommendations for a doctor in Roanoke who...

Tiffany C. replied:
Dr. Dickens at Carilion family practice on colonial ave. He is a DO which means he went through the same training as a medical Dr with an additional 2 years of training in osteopathic medicine. He does OMT which is osteopathic manipulation. Look it up. I have been his nurse for 2 years and have seen him work miracles on back pain. 5407720555

We used Dr. Althouse until he retired. We now use Dr Patterson. Carilion Pediatric Associates practice on Electric Rd has been great to Amanda. All the doctors have been kind, helpful and treated her well. She also goes to Dr Koch for endocrinology.
