I have the same symptoms as you. Sounds like pps syndrome, especially the fatigue. A few years ago, the Shepherd Spinal Clinic in Atlanta had a post polio program. Good luck

I live in High Point, NC. There is a fantastic neurology department at Bowman Gray School of Medicine/Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. I went there for several tests to determine just how much damage Polio actually gave me. Also I have a niece who lives in Hickory who drives to Winston-Salem for treatment for MS there. Hope you find a good doctor soon. The trick is to pace yourself........I know, it is really difficult.
Patti B. replied:
Its only the last 2 years since i started having unexplained symptoms, the drs were blaming everything on my asthma and weight and arthritis, My breathing got so worrying they took me in thinking i had heart condition or clots n the lungs....Nothing, I never mentioned the ongoing exhaustion, tiredness, inability to lose weight, diet though i may.... Also swallowing problems, muscle and joint pain and now the leg stiffness and weakness and general hip and bottom pains. Also bowel weakness and bladder weakness. I did mention once PPS to my Dr, and he knew absolutely nothing and said well we don't really recognise that. In 1950 I contracted Parylitic Polio. in my hips and both legs, at the age of 18 months and lost all use beneath the waist. When I recovered I wore a calliper and regained my ablity to walk. went on to a very active mid-life for which i think I am now paying the price.
Mary C. replied:
check out the polio clinic at National Rehabilitation Hospital in DC.
Marti S. replied:
Jessi Bowen I have sent emails to the leader of the group… no answer. Also spoke to the group coordinator at Care Partners and she couldn't help me other than suggest I ask folks in the group. Am going to go to their next meeting.
Leigh T. replied:
Marti you need to read Dr. Bruno's book," The Polio Paradox." It answers all the questions. I am still finishing the book. It's on Amazon book form and ebook. I wish I had this years ago.
