We got our kittens done at Brockport Animal Hospital because that's the only place my wife will take them. It was $400 for a male and female.

I highly recommend Cats and Critters. They only treat cats and small animals, so that's nice if your kitties are nervous around dogs. I recently switched over to them after getting tired of exorbitant fees and unneeded testing at a different vet and I wished I'd made the switch sooner. They're wonderful!

I've been happy with countryside veterinarian in spencerport. Prices are very reasonable. I like caring for cats but you have to be prepared to deal with the vet who is not at all personable. I think she may be on the spectrum honestly.

Go to www.glacierpeakholistics.com and order their allergy sensitivity test. It really helped when we had that same problem. Now we feed a raw diet,totally eliminating the foods that our boy had listed as possible allergens.

Rochester Community Animal Clinic. They have a sliding scale for rates and have student pricing. Their hours are kind of wonky and if you're doing the walk in time I would recommend getting there EARLY and be ready to wait for a while. I take my dog there and they're great!

Scottsville Veterinary Clinic is about 10 minutes south of campus down Scottsville Road. They have plenty of walk in hours and low priced clinics a few times a month at their various locations. No sure about dental emergencies but hey it's worth calling. I would recommend them over and over!

Brighton Animal Hospital and Midtown Veterinary Hospital are two of the most reasonably priced vet clinics in Rochester. My dog is actually at Brighton right now for having some teeth extracted and the rest scaled/cleaned. That being said, tooth extraction is not cheap, since they have to put an animal under to work on their teeth. The price also varies depending on how many teeth they ultimately need to remove.

I use companion animal hospital. I love the vets there and its much cheaper than the vets around me, about ~50 dollars per visit. Their website seems to include teeth extractions, but I have no idea what theyre surgery rates are like. I've found him to have the most reasonable prices and have been happy with the service there. I don't personally know his experience with large breed dogs, per se, but know he treats all kinds of animals.

Midtown Vet on University Ave...north side of Main Street. Very good, very practical. Have been with him for years!

I 2 nd Paul Zimber. He knows his stuff! Down to earth and you can see he has a passion for what he does. He's also a funny guy.

Companion Animal Hospital Dr. Tomeka Smith is the director of Veterinary medicine. She is amazing and only about 3 miles from the highland/Southwedge area. Drive down Mt. Hope for three miles and your there.

I've used Midtown vet on university and Suburban on W. Henrietta. Both great. MidTown is less expensive and bare bones. He only has you get what you need and doesn't push other services and treatments. I've gone to home for over 25 years.

We had a 160 lb Great Pyrenees and took him to The Animal Hospital of Rochester on University. The entire staff was absolutely amazing when our boy was diagnosed with bone cancer. Even when he snapped at them when he needed to take his medication they were very good with him, and a polar bear snapping at you is terrifying! You rarely have to wait in the waiting room, they scoot you right into an exam room and don't make you sit around waiting.

I have been going to Midtown since the 70's (When Dr. Balonic -Irondequoit Animal Hospital- was his partner) Dr. Zimber is great, bare bones, no bullsh*t and a wealth of information. He is also one of the few *independent* clinics left.

Midtown Vet on university ave, other side of main. Paul Zimber is the most down to earth, practical, cost efficient vet. He's been taking care of my greyhounds for 20 yrs. He's kind, compassionate, and very experienced.

I've gone through this twice! Dr Kathy Collins hands down. We then used Thera Vet Acres for rehab, which is a must!

I just through this four years ago with my Gracie, who is a 50 lbs. Dalmatian mix. Torn ACL and torn meniscus. I opted for the traditional surgery, (vet agreed), a little under $2K for total expenses, and my dog sailed through it with no prolems. Dr. Charpentier, Clark Animal Hospital, Rt. 250, Penfield, our vet for 30+ years, performed the surgery. Gracie's been fine ever since; she's 12 years old now.

We have a 140 lb St Bernard - done by The Country Vet near Canandaigua. I went several places including Cornell, felt Dr Yates was the most confident on a big dog. 4 years strong so far! We were VERY pleased:)

My dog is 150 lb Rotty and needed ACL surgery early on in his life. Maybe he was 100 lbs then. We went with TPLO because of his size and future life style . Due to his size we had no choice but go for the TPLO. He did well with it and just turned 6, still strong . It was costly but worth it. We went to dr. Grieco at the vet hospital in Henrietta. Dr. Greico was wonderful.
