Does anyone know of a good psychiatrist that takes medical please?

Call 619-258-6730 and ask for doctor Thomas. If that doesn't work call 619-258-6397 for Dr. S. They're both good psychiatrists and will get you the help you need. I wish you nothing but good luck
Rebecca J. replied:
If they're not available you can call 1-800-479-3339. It's a hotline they'll give you names and numbers of therapist and psychiatrists in your area that take medi-cal

Check out reflect: http://www.joinreflect.com/ I've had a good experience with them but will be trying out Kaiser as it is more affordable to go more often then. It's a great option if you don't have Kaiser but do consider Kaiser if your employer offers it and you're still deciding. Super happy with the insurance as a whole.

are you on medication as well, I would look for a counselor rather than psychiatrist https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2014/03/for-depression-prescribing-exercise-before-medication/284587/

What insurance are you under? I'm with Kaiser and only pay $20 for my psychiatrist visits twice a month.

I have been taking my son to Dr. Liu at UCSD developmental-behavioral pediatrics (part of Rady Childrens) for my sons ADHD and she has been great with managing his meds and helping us go in the right direction.
Depending on your willingness to drive and what you are seeking, we see Dr. Jane Tanaka in Ramona. I find her to be exceptional for what we needed, which was someone to help us get a handle on medication.
Sharon S. replied:
I'll second the recommendation for Dr. Tanaka. We had gone through a couple years of misery while our son's previous doctors switched him from one med to the next with varying degrees of side effects. Dr. Tanaka quickly got him on a combination of meds that has turned out to be the perfect match for him. When we have a concern, she gets him in for an appointment quickly. She is very loved by our family!

Looking for a younger male psychiatrist closer to north county - I have no insurance. Any recommendations?
sintaur replied:
You can call 211 to get assistance on all kinds of things (not just about health services). Call by phone to have someone walk you through it, or visit the website (include a chat button): http://211 sandiego.org/resources/health-wellness-old/mental-health-services/ There's lots of options covered in the website, including individual and group counseling, peer counseling, online self help, and so on. Good luck!

My question is why specifically younger male psychiatrist? Google community mental health clinic or Community research foundation clinic in north county. Sliding scale fees and tend to have psychiatric residents.
